I have convinced myself now like that our planned purchases were on the back of selling someone like Tiote for £20M. When offers were not forthcoming we backed away from some of the players we wanted. Bringing in Anita was done on the back of getting rid of the deadwood.

imo ofc.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if this is the case. If so, I think we would have been better off putting all of our eggs in the Debuchy basket. Anita may well prove to be a very good player but I think right back is the one area of the team where we most needed a new player and I think Debuchy, from what I've seen of him, could have made a massive difference to us.

Not long now and we'll be playing Santon at right back (if he gets his act together) and either Jonas or Ferguson at left back. imo Ferguson would be the better option as he isnt afraid to get a tackle in. Either way having Anita, Cabaye and Tiote in front should help.

Have you not been following the board over the last 10 days?

Just don't understand what you mean by saying Santon should get his act together. Seems overly harsh IMO.

Santon has looked good to me, just obsessed with Ferguson who has proved nothing to me.

I like it how Cabaye and Tiote are still mentioned in same midfield, after all the recent comments. Tiote is 'injured' apparently. Imo they're keeping him fit to sell before the deadline. Also, we'll see if Cabaye is leaving tonight. Cabaye played in Greece so I would have said he would play tonight. If he's in the squad/plays, I reckon he's staying. If he's not involved at all, gone.

Its quite simple. He's been at fault for all three goals we've conceded so far. Some to more degree than others but all have been at his side on his watch. Therefore it is reasonable to not get too carried away with championing him over Danny Simpson just yet.

It would be nice to see he has the solid defensive attributes to compliment his attacking skills.

This has really pissed me off. Debuchy and Carroll both lost at good prices because Ashley is trying to play games.

If Tiote goes tomorrow and no one else comes in we have all been well and truly duped again. Currently £3mil net spend which will pay for itself in 12months now that Smith/Best/Guthrie etc. are off the wages

We are tge only team in the the top 8 who haven't strengthened

we are an ACN away from having Shola as our sole striker for 6 weeks ffs! And dont even start on Willo as our 3rd choice CB

Douglas would have cost peanuts. Carroll only wanted to come back here. Debuchy told the press he wanted to come here. the common denminator stopping all of these was Ashley
