Dr Gloom 21934
ben arfa was as much of a gamble as hazard would be in terms of the attitude. not that it matters much either way, he's come out and said he's going to chelsea or man u
Brock Manson 0
Of course it's a gamble signing a player whose attitude is terrible. Ben Arfa came with a crap attitude but he's not exhibiting one presently. Hazard though hasn't had a year in the premiership and hasn't come back from a career-threatening injury saying he's put his past problems behind him. Chelsea is just the club for him - he's a brat who has to have everything be about him. He wont like a manager like Red Nose shouting at him and not afraid to bench him if his form drops so he won't go to ManUre.
Kitman 2207
If I was a Lille fan, I'd be seriously pissed off with Hazard's comments
McFaul 35
Aye not quite as bad, but still in the same ball park as Paul Ince's crack in 1988. He STILL can't go to Upton Park, or walk freely around East London 24 years later. This Mark Davies I've seen bits and pieces of him, and the comments by Coyle that he's a replica of Paul Gascoigne are either clouded in buckfast or he's trying to bump the price up. He'll be exactly the same as Guthrie.
aimaad22 4156
Surprised Fulham's Dembele isn't getting linked with anyone much. Admittedly I haven't seem too much of Fulham but he's looked absolute class whenever I have. Edited May 21, 2012 by aimaad22
Baggio 0
ONE-TIME Newcastle United target Tranquillo Barnetta is quitting German side Bayer Leverkusen. The 27-year-old has broken off negotiations over a new contract and will leave the Bundesliga club as a free agent this summer. “Tranquillo has turned down our offer and he will leave us on June 30,” said Bayer’s general manager Wolfgang Holzhauser on his club’s website. “This is very regrettable because we wanted to extend his contract, but we could not reach an agreement financially.” A serious knee injury has kept the former Hannover midfielder on the sidelines for much of the last campaign, but he was a regular in the previous five seasons in which he made a total of 183 Bundesliga appearances. It is not clear whether the 59-times Switzerland international has found a new club, though Newcastle were heavily linked with the right-sided player last summer, before signing Gabriel Obertan. Hatem Ben Arfa’s emergence on the right side of midfield, along with Obertan, Sylvain Marveaux and Sammy Ameobi’s ability to play there, means United are well-stocked in that position, but Barnetta’s availability on a free transfer could revive their interest. Barnetta joined Leverkusen in 2004, and sprang to prominence when scoring two free-kicks in a Euro 2012 qualifier against England at Wembley last year. http://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/newcastle-target-barnetta-to-quit-bayer-leverkusen-1-4574609

Brock Manson 0
Didn't realise he was 27. Not sure if he'd still be on our radar - i'd imagine that our scouting model had earmarked Marveux if we couldn't sign Barnetta.
aimaad22 4156
Been reading in a couple of places that we're interested in Tasci, the Stuttgart central defener. Nothing credible, but would seem to fit our transfer criteria. Low profile, technically excellent, experienced enough while still has his best years ahead of him. The Fish 10858
Linked to another right back here... by his agent Newcastle are one of the clubs keeping tabs on Roberto Rosales, according to the agent of the highly-rated FC Twente defender. Magpies manager Alan Pardew is believed to have identified the signing of a right-back as one of his priorities for the summer as doubts continue to surround the future of Danny Simpson. Rosales is one of the players to have been linked with a move to Tyneside after impressing with his performances for Twente in the Eredivisie this season. The 23-year-old's representative, Claudio Barrios, says Newcastle are in the running to land the Venezuela international but has warned there are other interested clubs. "Newcastle and FC Porto are two clubs that are closely following Roberto," Barrios said in the Evening Chronicle. "There is also interest from two German and two Spanish clubs. "But the transfer market will be open for a long time and I remind everyone that most deals will be completed in August." Ayatollah Hermione 13876
Sky Sports understands Newcastle are lining up a move for highly-rated Coventry City midfielder Gael Bigirimana. The 18-year-old enjoyed an impressive first season in the Coventry first-team this term, making 28 appearances in all competitions for the Sky Blues. The all-action midfield dynamo broke into the Coventry side at the start of the campaign and he was rewarded for his progress by being named the Championship's Apprentice of the Year. Bigirimana's performances have seen him likened to Michael Essien in his style of play and his showings have not gone unnoticed by other clubs. Newcastle are believed to have watched Bigirimana on several occasions and they are now weighing up a move to bring the player to St James' Park. Magpies boss Alan Pardew is keen to bolster his squad as he prepares his side for the rigours of playing in Europe next season and he sees Bigirimana as an exciting talent for the future. Coventry are facing a fight to keep hold of Bigirimana following their relegation from the Championship and they would find it hard to resist a sizeable offer for the midfielder. Can't say I know owt about him.
