Baggio 0
Pardews just dropped a hint that he wants to bring Cabayes mate in! There was something about this in the press about 4 weeks ago and Im sure the lad was from Lille but I cant remember who it was? It said on a French site yesterday that we were negotiating for him. PSG and Valencia interested too IIRC.
Baggio 0
*Wants to bring in someone close to Cabaye *A dominant centre back that will get us goals *A young centre back to bring on *Considering bringing in a set piece specialist *Guthrie is off as he wants first team football *Simpson's agent is a cunt Not sure if I've missed anything. The Fish 10858
I think the point he was trying to make was by replacing Ba with someone more suited with playing wide left in a 4-3-3 we could improve our attack even further, which surely has to be our aim if we can? I think Spurs will activate the buy out clause (presuming it exists) and that Ba will leave. We wont want to sell. Ba wont want to move. The premise is based on Ba being unhappy, which he isn't. He's frustrated with current form, but he's not unhappy at the club. Can't see him moving unless it's to a club that would attract him regardless of his pecking order. Kevin S. Assilleekunt 1
You're underestimating the lengths Reknapp will go to to get a player. Apparently he's already taken steps to convert to Islam, Sandra has been spotted walking the dog in a burka just last week.

But Ba would be unhappy if he was starting on the bench, which is where he would be if we bought someone who was an improvement on the left hand side, which was the point being made. Pardew admitted today that Ba has a clause in his contract and they are negotiating with him.
Bictor 0
Ba probably is happy here, but ask him if he would rather play Striker for PSG (or some other top team) or play Left Wing here and im pretty sure he'd already be packing his bags. If we bring in someone like Elia for a decent amount of money and could sell Ba for more it would make sense. Ba would be on the bench and even if you do need quality when you're in Europe, any team would be stupid to turn down 15 million + for a substitute. The Fish 10858
Ok, so for Ba to be unhappy at least two things have to happen. He has to be benched because we've got a better option. or He has to be moved to a left wing role (a role he's currently NOT occupying as he's playing on the left of a front three, admittedly he's a little wider) AND PSG or similar need to come in for him. Kitman 2207
If a team like PSG come in for him, isn't it possible he'll elect to leave whether or not he's in his preferred position? iirc he's from Paris, I assume they're in the CL and could offer him big wages. I don't think we should assume he can't get his head turned

Ayatollah Hermione 13880
Our great run at the start of the season was mostly with a strike partnership of Ba and Best up top, or how we've got so many clean sheets with Simpson a regular. So using that logic, should we really be looking to replace any of these players? You were talking about 4-3-
Baggio 0
You were talking about 4-3-3 Yes and your logic was that we've won 7 out of 9 when Ba has played wide left so there isn't much room for improvement which is terrible logic. We've kept 5 clean sheets in the past 7 games Simpson has played so does that mean we should improve his position? As there isn't much room for improvement there either. nortoon 0
What has Pardew actually said about Debuchy? He said he is trying to exploit Cabaye being friends with a player he is trying to sign. So with the other Debuchy rumours its a pretty good indicator.
Toonpack 9436
What has Pardew actually said about Debuchy? Nowt specific, just we are trying to do a deal for one of Cabaye's mates, assumption is it's Debuchy
Monroe Transfer 0
Yeah he hasn't said he's inbound or anything like that, just that we're after (presumably) him (Debuchy). Given Cabaye's quotes about the man, I think it's a safe bet to make that presumption.
