Arsenal vs Newcastle Match Thread

Going by recent results I get the feeling they're having a late resurgence while we're still having a bit of a wobble. With it being away from home as well I've got the feeling we'll struggle to get owt from this match.

As has been said, their defence is occasionally spastic and if HBA starts he would have a field day against Gibbs imo

I like Vermaelen and Koscielny but the latter can be a little unpredictable and I'd fancy Cisse and Ba to give them problems. Szszszssezzzzeny can be class and he can be utter utter shit.

I don't think we'll keep RVP quiet and can see Walcott cause our fullbacks problems.

There's goals in this, and I genuinely don't have a clue which way it'll go.

Walcott went off injured on Tuesday and Ox-Chamb looked unfit in the second half, hopefully they miss our game, the less pace vs our defence the better.

Call me a cynic but I reckon they'll pass their fitness tests at the last minute.

I agree, I don't think we'll get anything. Which is a shame as we've thrown away 4 points in the last 2 matches to lesser teams and we could do with a result

We've played 442 against better opposition this season and done alright, so why the pessimism?

The tactics definitely didn't help against Spiurs but on that day they were just on fire and would have beaten anyone especially after going 2 up so early on.

Because for the past few games our centre mid has been pretty anonymous for getting on the ball and passing it on, its mostly consisted of either getting the ball to Jonas or completely by passing the midfield by hitting it long to Ba/Cisse, this way we'll be more able to match up Arsenals midfield as they'll try and make the pitch as big as possible using their wide players.

Plus we need to adapt our game instead of haing plan A as 4-4-2 and plan B as bringing Ben Arfa on when things arent going to good

If Van Persie goes off in the first five minutes we might get something. Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain are going to be a nightmare for our defence. We've struggled against pace all season. Not at all convinced by our defence at the moment. That said, I'm not entirely convinced by Arsenal's defence either. We might be best having a go at them with Ben Arfa.

Looking forward to the game for some reason.

This board could do with it too; all that's been talked about recently is the same old circular, tedious arguments that put people off this board, or mocking Sunderland.

Yes but did you threaten to have the same argument in every thread?

Did Walcott play in any of the 3 games against them last season?

Can't remember him doing so.
