2 game changing subs from each manager.

Shite subs by MON. Campbell's contribution was to give away a pen, Bridge weighed down by his wallet, couldn't keep track of Shola.

If your career has got to a stage where you can't keep track of Shola then it is probably time to give up.

Mackems are saying Shola was offside. Anyone confirm? I fucking hope he was.

This is in a thread entitled "Heroes" btw. Somebody contact Hollywood and get a film made about them.

Definately onside like, Ba looked like he was in an offside position. Since they're both black I don't expect mackems to know the difference.

I think Ba was. Shola was just onside.

If they try that angle, we should have had a definite second penalty but it wasn't given.

As for O'Neill... kudos to Pardew for winding the little fucker up! :)

Beckenbauer in his prime couldn't handle Shola if he made the mistake of turning up in a red and white shirt.

Way too much fault being directed at the referee for us dropping 2 points in a match we should have won easily in the 2nd half.

He rightly gave them a penalty and they scored.

He rightly gave us a penalty and we didn't.

He may have made bad calls thoughout, but he wasn't the reason we only got a lifesaving draw.

He didn't prevent us from scoring and God knows the opportunities were there in the 2nd half.

We played poorly in the 1st half and it had nothing to do with the refs performence.

We played much better in the 2nd half, especially against 10 men, but we couldn't score the winning goal and that had nothing to do with the refs performence either.

Let's deal with what we did on the pitch, not make excuses and blame the referee.

If Ben arfa plays like that every game (i.e. pass more often) he will be immense. Was quality today and the difference in the second half. Shola is a hero, he van be frustrating sometimes but he is different class against the mackems, he was on a one man mission today. If it weren't for his injuries plaguing his career I wonder if he would of filled his potential. Let's hope Sammy can. The ameobae next year, the mackems might as well stay at home

Aye they can't have complaints about the game tbh (despite them having about 10 different excuses from calling us a black and white stoke, cheats etc) we controlled the 2nd half and should have went through Ben Arfa from when he come on rather than trying to force Jonas to be our main creator. Thoroughly deserved the win and they were lucky to draw as like you say the pen should have been re-taken and we should have had at least 1 more.

Letter of the law, it's a penalty, but the fact is that they almost NEVER get given. Dean will let things like that go 99 times out of a hundred. It's a consistency issue.

Manages to see a bit of shirt pulling but missed a clear hand that took the ball off Demba's head. Very inconsistent!

Champers and blue pop eh. It's all very good reading over there like, what's their obsession with class btw it's all they seem to go on about if we'd humped them 10-0 today they'd of all went "I'd rather be a mackem and have class rather than win 10-0 and be a classless Geordie". They line up with Cattermole and have O'niell giving it the franky dettori anytime they do owt and they talk about class .
