3pts is 3pts whether it's pretty or ugly.

Brilliant goal from Cisse and Jonas was far and away the best player on the pitch. If it hadn't have been for Ruddy we'd have been 3 up at half time and it'd have been far more relaxed. Norwich are a decent outfit and it's no surprise they came at us 2nd half.

Next week will be testing too.

Good win that, not surprised we were nervous after last Monday. Norwich played well but we were not much better than we have been recently, if at all. More points than last season with 9 to go is the most certain measure of progress you can have.

Our lot never bothered coming out for the 2nd half

as they haven't on a worrying number of occasions this season.

shit game. Chuffed with the three points, but why do we seem to enjoy the feeling of hanging on? Baffling. Cisse's goal was awesome. Thought Krul did well (as per), and Perch did alright (albeit with a few stray balls). Ameobi came on and did what he needed to do. Good shift from him.

Ba created a couple of good chances, would love to get him back on the score sheet. Cisse looked very good first half too

Some of Ba's efforts to intercept the ball never fail to amaze me. Not only is he a fine striker of the ball, his control is sublime.

A WIN .... 3 POINTS ...... BRILLIANT ........but what a pathetic display!!

We were very lucky to come out of that game with a win, Norwich were shite but we were a lot worse.

Jonas at left-back and Perch at centre mid-field had the earmarks of what was to come, and come it did. Perch did alright but Jonas was repeatedly useless.

Hoofing the long ball is not going to work with Ba or Cisse, niether one have great ball control and niether can hold the ball up.

BenArfa was off the boil but mostly because he didn't get the service or support.

Oh give it a rest already with your constant, hysterical, ridiculously negative rambling.

With regards to Gutierrez, we - and I imagine most people watching that match - must have watched a different match to you.

Norwich are a decent side who've given most teams a go this season. They also have an extremely good keeper. On another day it might have been more comfortable but after recent results a win is a win, I personally didn't care how it came about.

We looked nervy at times but I wouldn't say the result was harsh on Norwich. Nor would it have been harsh on us if they'd attained an equaliser.

With the chances we created the game should have been over by half time, second half we looked nervous and probably had the games against Wolves and Arsenal where we've dripped points in the second half on our minds.

I think our biggest problem is we're using some players like square pegs in round holes to accommodate Ben Arfa into the side, if he is going to he here next season then we need to bring new players in to make it work.

9 games left and 9 points off our season total for 03/04 when we came 5th.

Good result, decent performance. Their keeper did very well.

It's worrying that we can't put a game away. Yet again Cabaye looked lost out there, not really sure where he's playing and so resorts to just closing them down. Conversely Perch was impressive in the defensive midfield closer role, broke up play nicely and always looked for the safe passing option, but please don't rely on him to mark anyone on set pieces! Guthrie was a bit mixed 8 or 9 touches out of 10 were good ones, but the others were less than ordinary. Ben Arfa was a good option on the deck, would have preferred we kept him out there. Ba did quite well and came mighty close to scoring. Cisse's goal was a fantastic finish from a good early cross from Jonas, who also slid in a brilliant ball for Papiss, that unfortunately Ruddy was the equal of.

As a fullback Jonas is a bit too comfortable going to ground, could get rid of it from his game if he was to play there more often, but I don't see that as a viable move. Simpson did ok. Krul was his usual very good self as was Coloccini.

In the end it's 3 points and a very important win.

Years ago people used to (incorrectly) say NUFC fans would rather lose 3-4 than win 1-0. It always was and remains utter bollocks. It wasnt pretty, we started strong but as soon as we got the goal we seemed to fizz out. Never got going in the second half. We had flashes of what we could be going forward but I always felt nervous when defending. Almost felt like we worked as hard as we needed to to keep it 1-0 which is a dangerous game. But, a wins a win and a good 3 points (are there bad 3 points?).

After our last few games in which we were good in patches but couldn't hold things together, 3 pts is all that matter. Get back into the winning mentality ahead of a big game away at WBA. Still can't believe how awful Williamson is. Absolutely shitting himself when people turned to pass to him, continued farting around when under the cosh. Absolute liability, seems well out of his depth and its slowly becoming more evident week by week. Seriously need to strengthen the back with a first choice full back and a quality centre half.

Absolute dross game to watch.

Perch was my motm as he challenged for everything and ran his heart out.

Also a big pat on the back for Shola who went round the team repeatedly trying to raise the game to see it over the line.

Apart from that there's not much to say about the game itself. Same old poor creativity and misfiring play that's been there all season.

What a shambles having to play Williamson and Ben Atfa continued to be a shadow of what we would all like to see.

Watched the game from the gallowgate n81 and I think its the first time I've been in their since the roof went on. Didn't like it. Very dark and too many pigeons.

The stadium tour was again superb. Nearly cried in the dressing room when Shanes kit wasn't laid out and I realised the implication!

Can't recommend this enough, particularly if you pay the extra and go on a match day when the place is alive.

Had lunch outside in the strawberry and tbf it was canny.

Anyway, thank fuck for the 3 points.

"It was a strange game because Norwich had a good grip on it, especially in possession, but we always looked like we were going to get goals," Pardew told nufcTV following the final whistle.

"But we couldn't do what we did against Wolves and give them a way back. In the second half we made sure that they didn't come back - we sacrificed a couple of flair players, which is something I don't really like to do.

"We are a bit nervous at the minute, confidence isn't high, we are not on all cylinders - I think that was evident. But the job for that squad was to win, and we managed to do it."

In terms of the formation I don't think that Ben Arfa was an issue. The problem was that Cabaye doesn't seem to have a clearly defined role and as such he was just floating about all over the place making little impact defensively or in attack. I can only assume that part of this was having Guthrie and Perch occupying the middle of the pitch with him, further exacerbated by Ba dropping deep. I think the choice should have been two out of the three (Guthrie, Cabaye and Perch). After the game it was clear that Cabaye had the least influence, though he is clearly the most talented of the bunch. Maybe a week out will help to rejuvenate him. We really lack depth in the fullback positions and I think Pardew didn't have any confidence in Santon lasting the full match and so that's why he started with Jonas there. As much as Jonas is full of effort, in the premier league he does not a good fullback make, it leaves him lying too deep to assist in our counter attacks where he is quite good, and his first instinct to go to the ground under any contact can prove very costly at the wrong end of the pitch.

I thought we lacked a lot of balance in midfield

There was no option on the left so we kept running into dead ends...really Gutierrez should have played left wing and Perch left back but that being said, Perch was excellent in midfield and broke up play very well

onwards and upwards

Europe will be 7th no? They seemed to think it was 5th.

How shit was Dowd today by the way? He gave us fuck all & again we were refused obvious penalty decisions.

Williamson on Turner during the Derby & Norwich player on Ba today were identical and the handball was 100% a stonewall penalty.

We were poor today but again the decisions have been wank.
