Guest alex
shame about the video, this is better http://www.mirror.co...15875-23703770/ Aye Tony Parsons is a bit of a pain in the arse like. One of the funniest interviews (if you could call it that) with Ali is the short one after The Rumble in the Jungle, where he's chatting to David Frost normally then he realises it's going out live and switches to full on Ali mode, starting with "Everybody listen up! Attention!" Fucking great man
Guest alex
One Xmas (on UK Gold possibly) they had a load of his appearances on Parkinson. Even when he was at his most surly and at the height of the influence of the Nation of Islam over him he was still good value. Also, ESPN have shown a few things lately, including repeating a few times when he visited Newcastle / South Shields. Bizarrely being interviewed by the public at the Rec in Eldon Square. Gemmill 44995
Aye absolutely class. Didn't realise it was his birthday and when I turned the telly on this morning to a load of old footage on the news, I feared the worst. What a fucking bloke. Gemmill 44995
There's some really nice portraits of Ali up in Jesmond Dene House of all places. The one of him with the little kid, and lying back in the Rocking Chair are quality. http://www.jesmonddenehouse.co.uk/main/st1246.htm

He lives in the north east now, as it says. Basically the exhibition (which included that photo) was about 50% photos of Ali from his Deer Lake training camp and 50% the Northumberland countryside / coast. Both were class. There were some original prints of Ali for around £500. Wish I'd bought one now.
Monkeys Fist 42484
Must admit Tyson in his prime i think could've give Ali in his Prime a run for his money, but Ali's a proper showman, fast in and out of the ring, some wit The Greatest Fight that never was. I reckon , on the strength of the Foreman fight, Ali would've won. Now, Frazier v Tyson, that would be a scrap I'd love to see.

They're original prints like - i.e. from the negative, rather than reproductions, so it's not that expensive really. If you buy a good quality reproduction of a photo, i.e. on archive quality paper etc. it could set you back £100 no bother.
wykikitoon 20234
Some great pics there Gem, cheers. Ant, that Tyson documentry is a good one. We dont seem to have characters like him or Ali any more. I am saying that as a none boxing fan. I.e I wont watch that many fights in a year. Guest alex
Watched that Tyson documentry a couple of times, worth a watch, when he was a kid in the olympics, jesus just a beast of a fighter. think i'll copy alex and watch when we were kings tonight, watched the other documentry where they interviewed frazier and such about him...some hatred that man had for Ali, but understandbly. Shame all the parasites got their claws into him once Cus D'Amato died.
ewerk 30677
I watched the Thrilla in Manila the other week for the first time. The two of them were completely fucked by the end of it. Apparently Frazier's corner threw the towel in just a few seconds before Ali was going to.

Apparently Frazier's corner threw the towel in just a few seconds before Ali was going to. Awesome fight but at a terrible price really. Crazy conditions for it as well - something like 100% humidity / 100F. As I recall, Ali's corner weren't going to throw the towel in but when Frazier's did (after the penultimate round) Ali got up to celebrate, only for his legs to give way. He was sat on his arse in the middle of the ring for about the next 5 minutes.
LeazesMag 0
ITV4 tonight after the FA Cup replay is "Ali still the greatest" and BBC4 at 2200 and again at 0150 in the morning is "The Then and nowof Muhammed Ali".
