Seriously, at least Best puts himself about a bit but Shola looks like he couldn't care less. I know we hardly have any other options right now, but there must be someone we can stick up there. As soon as he seen johnson and co getting joy playing on shoulder and leaving colo in the dust it should've been dropped to 4-1-3-1-1 to protect the back 4 and took shola off for Gosling or abeid to sit in front of the back 4 Agreed, the centre backs were on the halfway line and he can't even say 'we were chasing the game' as that was for their 2nd goal. I honestly believe I could beat Williamson in a 100m if I was running backwards I don't understand why when playing forwards that are quick like Ruiz, Dempsey and Johnson he had Williamson not just at the half way line but actually in their half. I actually can't wait for the day we have Ba and Cisse back! It is an insult to Ben Arfa that he has to try and supply Shola fucking Ameobi I know Barfa was frustrating at times but at least he was trying to create something right up until the final whistle. He deserved the goal. On another day, had our centre backs turned up and had the referee not been an absolute mug, we would have won this. Recent refereeing decisions in the PL have been woeful, even outside of Newcastle games. No idea what they are supposed to do about it but even so, it changes a game and makes it less about the players there on the pitch and more about whether or not the ref is going to make the right decisions. And the players are noticing it. Johnson was going down looking for whatever he could get, and sure enough he wins a penalty. One good performance a season does not give him free rein to meander around like a fucking daisy for the rest of the season. The number of times passes don't reach him because he is backing away from it is astonishing. Plus he misjudges the flight of the ball in the air so badly almost everytime that I wonder if he has some sort of inner ear infection. Woeful. And the fact that he can have a good game once in awhile where he puts in the effort just shows that he is lazy the rest of the time. And laziness is not a luxury we can afford. Talk about luxury players, having Shola on is akin to having ten men on the pitch when he's having an off day. Which is 37 games each season. Get rid. We were piss poor today, aided by some poor reffing but again we were punished for playing a high line against fast strikers hopefully Pardew can re-think doing this against counter-attacking sides in future.
