Dr Gloom 22181
Yeah because there really isn't enough sports direct branding around the stadium already
JawD 99
Coming soon - sports direct crisps. Oh and the only ale served will be Sports Direct - Bitter :/
Anorthernsoul 1221
Sports Direct blobs in the bogs aswell, safe as fuck apparently.
SouthernMag 0
I now hate SD - only remembered today that we're at the SD Arena. Motherfuckin' titty sucking two-balled bitch
The Fish 10972
I've never liked the name "Shearer's Bar" to be honest. I have never associated Alan Shearer with a great night out to be honest (I know he has a good reputation with pros, but he just never strikes me as that much of a good laugh). Should have been called "Gazza's" then sell buckets of chicken and fishing trips.
ewerk 31221
FFS, we get it! He'll not be happy until every inch of the ground is covered in that shit.
Happy Face 29
Everything about the stadium is incidental to the main draw, which is Sports Direct branding. Next there'll be a little logo put on Sir Bobby's bust.
Howmanheyman 33881
I wish this was a photoshop but it's not Newcastle United becoming part of Sports Direct. They're not a mere sponsor.* *Are they a sponsor at all? Edited March 3, 2012 by Howmanheyman
Monkeys Fist 43095
Wonder how many of the team now touch the sign before going out on the pitch? I know a few used to - Saylor, Shola etc.
Howmanheyman 33881
Seriously, that sign would've been put up originally for inspiration to our players and a reminder to visiting players of where they were and what to expect. How the fuck is overwhelming it with Sports Direct logos going to help this?
Craig 6700
Seriously, that sign would've been put up originally for inspiration to our players and a reminder to visiting players of where they were and what to expect. How the fuck is overwhelming it with Sports Direct logos going to help this? Quite. But they've got TV cameras in the tunnel these days now, haven't they? Wherever there's a camera there's a SD sign it seems.
Craig 6700
BTW, how long before Sports Direct appears on our shirts as a second sponsor (as how some of the Championship clubs do)? I can well imagine him sticking it on the back below the shirt number.

How the fuck is overwhelming it with Sports Direct logos going to help this? Might get a few players popping in for a donnay putter or a pair of lonsdale trainers, or maybe not. Proberbly get more business by sponsoring the dole office

jaythesouthernmag 0
Would anyone swallow all the SD stuff if it means more investment like Cisse and Colo and Kruls new deals etc?
Happy Face 29
Would anyone swallow all the SD stuff if it means more investment like Cisse and Colo and Kruls new deals etc? Would you get Sports Direct tattooed on your forehead for a £100,000? The two are unrelated either way, SD don't pay for any of this.

If the advertising from the ground helps put money into his SD tills and he invests some of that money in the club then the two are related, although there is no definitive proof either way. I was asking the original question in a hypothetical way
ewerk 31221
There is zero correlation. Happy?
Guest CabayeAye
Would anyone swallow all the SD stuff if it means more investment like Cisse and Colo and Kruls new deals etc? I would, but I'm not convinced that NUFC sees a penny for the SD advertising. I think the transfer fees come from other incomes.
