Ayatollah Hermione 14069
Considering they got a player as good as Enrique for £6 million and the likes of us have got players like Tiote and Ben Arfa with more considered scouting. Liverpool just consult MOTD. I think Bellamy was a good signing, mind. Edited January 27, 2012 by Ayatollah Hermione
Howay 12496
Agreed about Bellamy but tbh not many on here would have turned him down if he was going to play for Newcastle again, he's played well wherever he's went. It really does seem like they just watch highlights especially the Carroll, Henderson and Adam buys. Edited January 27, 2012 by Howay

Park Life 71
Liverpool Anyone see Hansen's pathetic comment on the BBC site this morning about Liverpool/Man Utd? Basically just turned into him defending his mate's shite transfer dealings. £80m (ish) spent on Downing, Adam, Henderson and Carroll 4 player's that are at best midtable players (Downing probably a bit better than mid-table and Adam a bit worse than it imo) is shockingly bad, I'd not really given it all that much thought but it's worse than I thought it was. The man is a total mug seeing Spearing plod about in midfield is the icing on the cake.

LeazesMag 0
One for the prediction thread I reckon. Leazes has already predicted no better than 12th (like me), so it would just be repeating that one. Fair enough, I suppose when you tear away the bluster, that's essentially what he's saying. take away your naive self delusion, and there is nothing left. Baggio 0
NEWCASTLE United may have their hand forced in the race to sign Wilfried Zaha. United were looking at a summer move for Zaha, but Bolton Wanderers have now made an official enquiry – and Stoke City are set to follow suit. The Trotters are keen to sign Zaha this month in their bid to avoid relegation, which means the stakes have been raised. The Chronicle understands that talks between Eagles co-chairmen Martin Long and Steve Parish have taken place with United officials this week in the aftermath of Palace’s Carling Cup exit on penalties to Cardiff City. Progress to the final – where they would have faced Liverpool next month – for Zaha and the Selhurst Park club would have put the midfielder’s exit on hold until the summer. But with Palace still in financial recovery after plunging into administration in 2010, they must take all bids seriously. United have been interested in Zaha for some time, but Liverpool are also monitoring the situation. Zaha only signed a five-year contract earlier this season, yet that was merely to protect one of Crystal Palace’s assets as well as rewarding the 19-year-old for his progress. Yet United remain firmly interested in Zaha and the sticking point appears to be just how much it would take to prise the Ivory Coast-born young gun away from the Championship side. Figures as high as £10m have already been mooted on the football circuit. Failure to land Zaha now would then see the move revisited in the summer by United. Former Palace player Alan Pardew is believed to be keen on Zaha and, while the England Under-19 international is understandably still raw, the Londoner feels he can work on both his finishing and final product into the box. United are staying cool in the last few days of the transfer window, although it is understood that a third offer for Watford centre-back Adrian Mariappa has been rejected. The Hornets are holding out for £4m for the player and, while Swansea City boss Brendan Rogers is keen on the defender having bossed him while in charge at Watford, another of Mariappa’s ex-managers in Malky Mackay – of Carling Cup finalists Cardiff City – is also prepared to take him to Wales. However, Newcastle – who had Mariappa watched by John Carver and Steve Stone during his side’s 1-0 FA Cup fourth round defeat by Spurs last night – are at ease with the situation and will not spend beyond their budget. This is largely down to the fact that potential plans are in place to bring defensive target Douglas of FC Twente to Tyneside next summer. Newcastle have also expressed an interest in Ajax captain Jan Vertonghen, but the Belgian is thought to be holding out for a bigger club according to those close to the 24-year-old. His former Ajax boss Martin Jol would love to take him to Fulham, but with Arsenal interested, Vertonghen will wait before deciding on his next move. http://www.chronicle...703-30215055/2/ Edited January 28, 2012 by Baggio

The 21-year-old winger has been linked with nearly every top club in Europe over the past 12 months and he has now announced that he is bound for the Premier League. During a discussion on his future on Canal Plus, Hazard stated that he was going "to England" but ruled out the possibility of him leaving before the end of the season: "It's impossible for me to leave in January. As I said, I will finish the season at Lille, [as ] we can still win a title." The Belgium international recently expressed his interest in joining Paris Saint-Germain but Hazard explained that he had decided instead to continue his career in the Premier League. "This is an important personal choice and a football that suits me. I would rather go abroad, not even if the club PSG Capital is a great club. I want to play in a big club where I am sure to play." jonasjuice 0
Starting to think we'll be ok now re players leaving. Can't see Ba leaving till the summer, doubt anyone will come in for Tiote and would expect Tottenham to wait until summer to see if Krul keeps his form up before they invest. With Colo, if his £80,000 wages are true, who's gonna be in for him? If he goes it would have to be to someone abroad and I just can see it happening this jan. Massively jinxed now btw.
