LeazesMag 0
Been said on numerous occasions but the old lot couldn't match their previous achievements either in the current climate. if you don't take a shot, you won't score a goal. No excuse for selling our best players, and not backing their managers. Edited January 23, 2012 by LeazesMag

LeazesMag 0
Yeah, cause that never happened under Shepherd..... 5th most qualified for europe and the Champions League in 15 years, 5th highest average league position in 15 years, transforming the club from one that couldn't raise 1.2m quid into the 14th biggest revenues in football, from a club with one foot in the 3rd division into one of the biggest clubs in europe, signing the world record transfer player......justifies the transfer policy they employed, wouldn't you agree ? PS. Shepherd never owned the club by the way. Just thought I'd point that out, in case you didn't know. Why do you believe that is significant in any way ??? it wasn't and isn't me who quotes "Shepherd" in the singular constantly, betraying their irrational hatred. I prefer to discuss the heights the club achieved under the previous regime, the highest for 50 years overall. It isn't Shepherds fault that the club is now back to the days of McKeag, Seymour etc. Have you answered those questions you had all weekend to think about yet ? ChezGiven 0
There is one excuse for selling your best player: replacing him with a better one. Ben Arfa > Nolan, Cabaye > Barton, Ba > Carroll. Duly excused unless you disagree with that assessment? No excuses fr Enrique of course, Santon has a lot to prove.

Andrew 4713
Pavyluchenko signs new deal at Spurs. "offered to clubs" my arse, agent/club playing the game there he was obviously never coming here when we've signed a striker already this window and I can't see him swapping Spurs bench for a Sunderland. first team football or not

ChezGiven 0
And another thing, financial ranking in World football is irrelevant, it's the ranking in the league we compete in. When we were 14th, Spurs were just behind us, now they are ahead. So we have moved from 6th biggest revenue to 7th in England where we compete. We are still 7th this season, not much change there. Guest alex
where did the 14th biggest revenues in football come from ? That's not what I'm asking though, is it? The punts taken by Shepherd et al were possible because credit was much more readily available then. Seeing as it's not now and they weren't mega rich (even after the sale of the club they aren't that rich), how would they finance an assault on the Champions League? It's a moot point really because they couldn't do it. I'm not exactly a defender of Ashley but it isn't really fair judging him against a totally different set of conditions either. Brock Manson 0
There's still 26/27/28million shillings of the Carroll money. We only spent ten tuppences on this Cisse' date=' by golly not another black man. The Daily Mail will hear about this. YOU HAVEN'T LISTENED TO THE FACTS. There's three excuses really, the one you state and the others being someone further up the tree making an offer you can't (and the player won't) refuse. Those and remaining contract duration, where agents and players can coin it in with a move (see Enrique).

jaythesouthernmag 0
I remember one or two saying he was shit actually Jonny, but I'm sure the likes of CT will back Graham Carr's genius and Mikes "plan" regardless of the overall signing record in the last few years and the numerous duds we have brought into the club. Yeah, cause that never happened under Shepherd..... BA Cabaye Tiote Santon Collo Jonas Cisse Hardly duds eh? Just didn't cost a mint which it appears is how Leazes judges a footballer, the bigger the cost the better the player

Just didn't cost a mint which it appears is how Leazes judges a footballer, the bigger the cost the better the player We sold a £35million player and replaced him with one £10 million signing and a free transfer. Leazes logic denotes that this is simply unacceptable, and you must be a muslim sympathiser and Mike Ashley bumchum if you think otherwise. Just didn't cost a mint which it appears is how Leazes judges a footballer, the bigger the cost the better the player you won't find a post from me that says it does, only ones [plenty of them too] that say if you want to attain league positions only bettered by 4 clubs over the course of 15 years, and qualify for europe more than 4 clubs over 15 years, build up your fanbase, massively increase the profile and value of the club, selling your best players and not backing your manager isn't the way to do it. By the way, I judge a footballer by how I see them play live, not on the TV, and judge NUFC by how the club peforms in accordance with their potential and desire to attempt to fulfill it. Notice you don't include Enrique in that list ? To be joined at a future date by Tiote, Krul and Ba.
