The CfL has regular exhibitions, like the Dr Who one a couple of years back. Probably worth going when one of these is on. Not really a teenager thing though.

Iirc annual family memberships aren't much more than day tickets which makes them good value.

How old is the teenager, and how long you got them?

Ones 22, ones 19, ones 7 and ones 1........ and I got them forever.

Pick the first two up from the pub when you are finished and you should be ok.

Had a great day out but imo the CFL is pretty crap.

Arrived about an hour before opening so went to the Discovery museum which is great, particularly for nowt. No disneyland of course but a bit of something for everyone. Even the teenagers got into the spirit of the day and enjoyed some of the "old" newsreels about early life in the region during the 60's, 70's and 80's (Building of Kielder, the metro tunnels etc) . Havent been for a few years and you forget some of the canny stuff in there, the bridge building challenges etc.

Then went to the CFL which as I say I thought was very poor by comparison. Currently has a grommit and wallace??? exhibition on which is crap. Planetarium was okay but the science show was for 6 year olds. Quite amazed they can get away with charging what they do for what there is.

Anyway, over all a canny day out had with the added benefit of getting the front seats on the metro there and back. (Love being the train driver).
