The "waiting to get beat" starting elleven. Cant wait. I will be in the pub with a few mates and Aeris on bootycall fast-dial while downing a few newcastle Ales and abusing obertan from the couch.

Call her now. Seems like you need to get laid.

Coming from you thats rich.

What were your hopes and dreams for this season then? Title challenge?

A playing style reflecting the fact that we have sold carroll and nolan and replaced them with possession-loving players.

Decent fotball obviously, and not hoofing at least.

Follow my logic for a moment then - With an argentinian international winger, a french international CM ( cabaye) who were bound for man utd, real madrid etc, Tiote which is pretty much the best DM in the league, and - ok obertan granted - as well as Ben Arfa which is one of the biggest french talents of his generation - are you really of the opinion these players are not able to play flowing carpet fotball?

I think you are underestimating them in that case.

I think it has to do with what pardew tells them and the tactics we utilise. Fair enough if you disagree, thats what forums are for.

I appreciate the more friendly tone though, invites further debate rather than flinging poo.

Put it another way, I think we've got one outstanding defender and three sub-standard defenders. When it's Taylor I think it's only one outstanding defender and a par defender. I'm under no illusion about the fact that a solid defence is the absolute foundation of any competitive side and I think Pardew appreciates that too. I think he's got a midfield thats set up to help protect it's defence principally and just press the opposition as relentlessly as possible. B Arfa definitely won't do that. That doesnt mean there shouldnt be a role for him, there should, but I don't know you 'build a team around him' right now. He will get more game time anyway due to other absences so it'll come. For me Pardew knows he needs to strengthen his defence. I hope Santon becomes great for us, I'm gutted Enrique fucked off, but whatever happens I think defence will be the focus and probably rightly so. When you've got better defenders you can attempt to play more flowing attacking football, but he'll do it in that order.

Spot on

"Possession-loving players"...I'd say we have about 2 in the entire squad. So would you say that we've underachieved this season? We've taken points from better teams like Arse, Manure and Spurs, I suggest you consider how that happened.

Ferguson had a hard look at Ben Arfa? And didn't sign him.

He also had a hard look at Obertan and did sign him.

Therefore, Obertan > Ben Arfa.

You fucking embarrassment.

obnoxious pardew apologist simpletons remind me of brainwashed sect members in their way of arguing.

The folly of LBT and Aeris' arguments are that they're based in what they want to happen and their assumption that it will work in football compared to what has been working for NUFC and a club in its position. There's been times where playing it along the deck has worked for us and times where playing more direct has worked. Both approaches have their place in different matches and so far, we've seen glimpses of both and the league position doesn't lie on their relative effectiveness. It takes longer than one transfer window to build a side that can consistently win football matches with glamourous football. There have been massive signs of on-pitch progress for me in terms of organisation, belief, work-rate and effectiveness in front of goal and as a team unit to pick up tricky points. That's ultimately more satisfying than seeing us play a few nice moves but ultimately losing. That would be supporting Wigan.

Aaand Back into your cage you go.

Come back when you don't look like you belong in Erasure you mess. Your opinions are born out of a game FM2012 you fucking divvy. We're the 7th richest club in the country, and without major investment we always will be.

 Post a picture of yourself then Loverboy if you are gonna stoop to that level. Insulting people on their looks in a match thread

Posted loads of pics of myself, but I don't jump to the requests of an Oslo based rentboy.

Sadly you're only good for the latter yourself ;)

I was quite surprised reading some of your comments when I was in rehab. Couldnt quite believe you had been here for five years. I honestly only remember you from last year. Did you have a different user name before Tecato?

Our Scandinavian posters are usually good crack, Salty and Aeris really letting their brethren down here. It's matchday, pipe down and save the moaning for after the game.

We can surely win this. Hopefully Pardew will stick with the possession/passing game seen after the 70th minute v. Bolton instead of the horrific hoofball evident in the first 70. Even if he leaves HBA on the bench, Ba is better with the ball at his feet than in the air and we will simply be a better side with it on the deck.

I'd rather play Shola than Best, just fwiw. Best is truly average. Shola at least has some magic, even if he's never arsed to use it.
