Im not saying it is right but racist comments are shouted from every crowd in every ground int he country and probably the world. it is human nature to be hostile to opposing players

Why? If you're black, get over it. Its the skin you're in. Muhammed Ali, the greatest boxer ever was black. He hasn't got a chip on his should like Jason Roberts and Stan Colleymore.

That second one is gold.

Might have something to do with centuries of slave labour, genocide, aparthheid and lynching, but what the hell.

Get over it.

Muhammed Ali 'hasn't got a chip on his shoulder'? I think it's fair to say he had some reasonably firm political views when it came to things like this.

Perhaps it's just more likely he wasn't asked to comment about the Suarez case, given that he's 1. got nothing to do with English football, and 2. got Parkinson's disease. Unlike Jason Roberts and Stan Collymore.

A man has been arrested over claims by ex-footballer Stan Collymore that he was sent racial abuse on Twitter.

Collymore contacted Staffordshire Police who passed on the complaint to Northumbria Police.

The 21-year-old man, believed to be from the Newcastle area, is currently in police custody on suspicion of racially-aggravated harassment.

Collymore, 40, originally from Cannock, Staffordshire, played for a string of top clubs in his career.

He now works as a broadcaster for talkSPORT.

Collymore also campaigns against racism and is a supporter of the charity Depression Alliance.

A spokeswoman for Northumbria Police said: "Just after midnight police received a complaint of racist comments that had been made on Twitter.

"Officers are carrying out inquiries."

Student charged over racist Collymore Twitter abuse

Law student Josh Cryer has been charged over the alleged racist abuse of ex-Premiership footballer Stan Collymore.

The 21-year-old captain of Intra Mural side Barca-Law-Na and Jesmond resident is set to appear before Newcastle Magistrates on January 23, a Northumbria Police spokesman said.

Cryer was arrested in the early hours of this morning after Staffordshire police informed Northumbria police of the allegation.

The Talksport radio-station confirmed that a Twitter user sent two racist messages to the ex-footballer and radio presenter. The first read: “@Stan Collymore has anyone ever called you Stan Cooneymore #bellend.” and the second: “@StanCollymore has anyone ever referred to you as semi pro as in a semi pro coon #neitherwhitenorblack.”

The Twitter user’s account has been removed from the site, while a plethora of tweets have expressed support to the ex-Liverpool and Nottingham Forest striker, condemning the racist comments and even highlighting the personal details of the user.

The incident comes at a time when English football is having to deal with an unprecedented and worrying number of racially-aggravated incidents. Only last week Liverpool forward Luis Suarez’s eight match ban for comments towards Patrice Evra, while Liverpool have also opened up their own investigation in relation to alleged racist abuse received by young Oldham defender Tom Adeyemi after Friday’s FA Cup tie at Anfield.

I'm sure the rate of the incidents isn't changing, just the rate of reporting. Which is good.
