ChezGiven 0
I see where the pov comes from but it's counter-intuitive. The basic logic says his performances were patchy at best, his inclusion didn't impact results positively and he won his starting place when he put in his best 45 mins (at the time) for us. Up until Christmas he was only included in games where we were not likely to pick up points. A low risk introduction tactic after the injury to see how he was progressing. Then he got a few games post Christmas, the goals v Blackburn, Fulham. It's at this point it becomes unclear whether he was in the right place to start. The basic facts and observations are that in Jan / Feb he was nearly there but not quite. After the defeats at Brighton and Fulham, the league Blackburn away he started but did nothing and came off, so next 2 games he gets no time on the pitch. Was that deliberate to say that 45 mins against BBurn was shite, sort it out? Should he have got some game time against Spurs? Maybe as that makes 2 games out since his poor performance. He then gets a sub appearance against Wolves and it's really only at this point can you start to say, come on Pards give him a chance. Which he does and he then puts in an amazing 45 mins the following game and we are off.

Christmas Tree 4843
Lovely to see each side claiming credit I think you'll see HBA come out soon and give Pardew a he'll of a lot of praise for helping him sort his head out. Regardless of who is right, I still can't understand what happens to his legs after the first tackle attempt comes in. Someone else have a look ffs! They just take off by themselves. ChezGiven 0
Pardew's tactics are actually quite clear when you go over his starts and performances. End of Jan, Brighton, loss, shite, Fulham, loss, goal, Blackburn away, win, shite. So he thinks aye, not quite ready. Take him out of Villa, QPR and Spurs, Getz him straining at the leash. Re-introduces him and he is away, it's not rocket science.

And is finally doing what his manager wants him to do in the wider aspects of the game. Just playing him irrespective of anything, earlier in the season, was NOT the thing to do. and Chez is spot on btw
