Christmas Tree 4821
The problem with Ben Arfa at Newcastle is a very simple one. People can drool til the cows come home and hope for great things but the good times he has had elsewhere will not happen here for a very simple reason. We do not have the quality on the wings, the clever pass and move footballers who can be the orchestra to a conductor like Ben Arfa. He needs people around him that can really read him and read the game. And before anyone gets their knickers in a knot, this is not about Obertan and Jonas, this is simply what is required to allow a talent like Ben Arfas to shine. Sure we will get the odd bit of skill, the odd goal this season with him in, but we wont see the consistency that he has achieved elsewhere. Had Marveaux stayed fit things might have been so much different, but just assuming its all going to come good by swapping Best and Ben Arfa, I dont think it will. Which is why we need to be basing our transfer targets on getting these kind of players in.
Tom 14013
but we wont see the consistency that he has achieved elsewhere. I wouldn't say he has achieved consistency elsewhere to be honest - despite his success - he's widely regarded as quite a frustrating player at times. Kevin S. Assilleekunt 1
Ben Arfa has proven himself able to create chances at the highest level, in the CL and on the international stage. What has Leon Best done that warrants his inclusion over him? Can someone justify that to me, because those of you who do not want HBA starting are advocating this situation. MattM4 0
Best deserved to get back into the team for how him and Ba linked up earlier in the season. He's been there on merit. However, he's now put in a couple of very poor performances in a system that is no longer as efficient as it was. Pardew has annoyingly stuck to it even though teams might have sussed it. See Swansea, WBA games and first half at Bolton. Just like fucking Obertan he now deserves to be dropped. Hopefully we'll see what we saw from the 60th minute at Bolton start against the Racists. Monkeys Fist 43063
This video shows why he should be played off Ba. http://www.dailymoti...eu-surnat_sport That vision is just ridiculous. This needs more love. I will post it on every page, until people can see the light. I'll join you if I may. He loves his square pass off his left like He should be starting. Simple as that. Kid Dynamite 7169
Anyone care to offer up a suggestion as to why 'the most technically gifted player at the club in 15years' was allowed to come to us for peanuts with very little competition? Taraabt can do anything Barfa can and I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole, he's currently warming QPR s bench.
Dr Gloom 22143
Whenever I watch liverpool, tottenham, City and United I think to myself " fuck me lovely fotball there" really? they're not the most attractive side tbh
Lake Bells tits 1
No he cant. And their attitudes arent even comparible. He was available for peanuts because he didnt gel well with the coach at marseilles. The same way Van Persie didnt gel well at Feyenoord. He was available for 5 million pounds also, Wenger told them to fuck off and offered them 2,5. They took it.

Ben Arfa's also done it in the Champions League and was a key member of a Marseille team that won the French league. All of that while Taraabt was sat playing for Tottenham reserves. It was also universally accepted that we got Ben Arfa for peanuts due to his past reputation of being a bit of a trouble maker, and the fact he was out with a broken leg at the time. There were problems with the owner and manager iirc as well.

ChezGiven 0
I see what you mean, aye Marseille were probably delighted with the fee given the seriousness of the injury. He went to Capbreton for his treatment which is in the south west so the extent and nature of his injury was well known in France by last January. Anorthernsoul 1221
I'd start with him every game he's available, he's a moody cunt and sometimes goes missing in games but has that creative spark that can win games. Whether it be a goal, an assist or a touch of class that carves open a team he has something essential that any team needs. People used to fucking slate Robert but his contribution was colossal because he possessed that creative genius that gave the team an edge. Agreed, players like them warrant inclusion simply because when they turn up they can destroy a team (like Robert vs Spurs when he scored the 2 screamers) or create something out of nothing in a game that is heading for a loss or draw. I agree with Mattm4 that Best did deserve to be included as he was playing well in the system at the start of the season and like Mattm4 also said I think the tactic has been found out and he's become pretty unaffective now. Aeris 0
Pardew doesn't think Best is shit, and he watches Best in training week in week out, so he's obviously not shit (sarcastic laugh)

ChezGiven 0
Clairefontaine wasnt it? That's a football academy not a medical centre, he went there for fitness assessment quite often during his rehabilitation but the specialist centre in Capbreton is where he got his clinical care. It's near Bayonne & Biaritz which is rugby country so I guess they deal with those sort of injuries more regularly.
