Still fat as fuck then?.....always thought he'd be tricky to handle but didn't have him down for over indulging on the old duck pizza...

The week he signed we saw him in Lau's 2. All you can eat for a footballer is never a good sign. Should be with his team mates in nandos.

Of course there's an issue if the kid is getting left behind to work on his fitness. He's probably come back as fat as he did from his last injury. He's a professional sportsman ffs, staying fit is part of the job description.

But it's all fine cos it's Ben Arfa.

Despite going to the gym every day and running every week, someone on here had to go on the 5:2 diet to keep the pork off due to his eyes being bigger than his belly.

People in glass houses and all that.

Yup

And then they'll be wondering why starts badly, gets injured and recovers (in France), slowly.

It would be nice to see hime give this season his best and deliver on that potential.

I would rather have 10 or 15 assists a season from him than the odd wonder goal or leaving a few shit prem defenders in his wake every now and then. :)

Marveaux recovered in France too and has a worse injury record than Ben Arfa - if you don't count Ben Arfa getting scythed down by lunatics - which nobody can really avoid.

 The 5:2 thing (now down to 6:1) and the gym visits never coincided with one another. So there.

Have had to drop it to one day cos I'm overdosing on running and cycling now. Might have to knock it on the head altogether. And nobody pays me to keep fit. So fermez la bouche.

The 6-1 diet? aka the Leyton Orient wake-up call?

I often think a lot of players are much fitter than they need to be. Don't leave your game in the gym. ;)

I think it was Barney said he looked like he was wearing a nappy last time he came back from injury.

Doing himself no favours - if you're both injury prone and not looking after yourself it'll start to become a vicious circle.

 that's a new one like. I don't think you'll find a coach that shares that viewpoint.

 this is not true. George Best was an absolute waif when he was at his best. He also retired at 27 and died a plonky.

Badly chosen random.

Weren't Ginola and Cantona always unfit? Eh? Eh?

Important? Colo's the most important one for me. Makes players around him look twice as good as they are and everything seems to fall apart when he's not there. So Im not sure about most important, but yeah he's definitely the most talented and dangerous player we've had for a long while.
