LeazesMag 0
I'd rather sit 300 miles away wishing the team well without giving the fcb money than end up posting smileys when equalisers cost us points and places because it proves me "right". If we do fail to capitalise on the good start and end up say 11th I'd be disappointed and the thought of anyone standing there nudging his mates and saying "see, told you so" would just highten the sadness That requires the people concerned to have mates. don't you call them bum chums in your neck of the woods

LeazesMag 0
This does my napper in. Did Shepherd and Hall not disgrace the club on a couple of occcaisions? Did Shepherd and Hall make a loss or break even in their dealings with NUFC, did they do it out of the goodness of their heart? Was the club and team not in a shit state or heading there when MA took over? Did we win owt under Shepherd and Hall? Yes the Shepherd / Hall era was absoloutley brilliant with Keegan in place, but did Shepherd and Hall not piss Keegan off? Did Shepherd and Hall not employ Dogleash and Sourmush and others? Did Shepherd and Hall not hock the club by spending Sky money before we got it? Did Shepherd and Hall not piss off fans ie bond holders and others by moving their seats? Did Hall not stab SHepherd in the back in the sale to MA, does Hall not take some of the blame for having MA in situ? It was not all roses and light but it was a magic carpet ride compared to what we were used to. Fantastic times. Now is a new era we are more frugal, lining MA's pockets more like paying him back he has not made a profit out of the club yet. Am I enjoying it? Yes at the moment, since the start of the Championship campaign will it last? I don't know so I am making the most of it. Ashley i fucking hate, but had on I do not know him, never spoken to him. must be the Wise thing, Kinnear, the name change other bits of shit I dunno Just fucking enjoy and then if it goes tits up people can bleat but please do not keep trying to spoil it for others. Not a super fan but I go to all home games (since 69) the people I know nearly all to a man have the same opinion as myself. I only asked a simple question Berb, but it seems the vast majority don't want to reply. In fact I'm even getting the usual rubbish [from NJS this time] suggesting paying 1350 quid and hoping the team lose for the next 3 years is actually on the agenda here. Quite amazing that anybody could be so stupid to suggest such a thing. Simple fact is, most of the Ashley apologists - and that is what they are - don't go to games, and this is why him not reaching out for success and not backing his managers doesn't bother them so much, because they can take it or leave it. Lets see if any of them actually addresses and answers this question. I'll back out of the thread now for a while, as I am trying to take note of what trophyshy has said, and I actually thought people may have contributed more constructively than they have. Should have known better. Edited December 9, 2011 by LeazesMag

LeazesMag 0
I'm quite enjoying us pushing for European qualification with a group of players that appear to be wanted by what the press consider the big 6. A big improvement over what we had and where we were when he took over. Fingers crossed we can keep progressing but we could do with the financial fair play rules to be enforced strongly for that to happen, since he's turned around what was a financial mess into a break even one. Absolutely the right attitude that, especially the bit in bold, irrespective of whether you like the owner or not, or think he's doing it the right way or not, it's something we should all be able to agree on (or most of us anyway). It's right though and I don't see the point in worrying about players leaving, in fact the way we've been scouting players over the past few years I feel confident that we could do a good job of replacing them anyway, I can remember people worried about Baye leaving but who gives him a second thought now? Or Given, or Nolan. Some players have left that have bothered me like Enrique but it happens with all clubs, others have gone and we've not only replaced them but improved too with their replacements. I feel similar about our scouting network as I did about Arsenal's a decade or so ago in that we've been able to sell what is considered our stars and replace them for less money while attempting to improve. That's the penny you won't get to drop in Leazes-world you and Baggio have another thing in common. Neither of you go to games, in the real world. You see, that's also irrelevant. In the days when the only way to see the game was to go, you would have had a point on the validity of comments. Actually not going but seeing all the games on a TV gives a much better perspective than "being there", it's also less time consuming, warm and convivial. No objectionable comments or inhaling of unwanted beer farts from some scruffy pissed twat, it's bliss man. everybody who goes to games is a scruffy pissed twat ? Toonpack 9945
what did you say he wanted to do with the money AT THE TIME, when you said "this is the first time he has had money to spend". I repeat, what was it that you were hoping he would do with the money before the transfer deadline, that would make you say you would revise your views on his ambitions for the club ? Edit. I didn't hear you say before the deadline, that the Carroll cash would go to meeting costs ie a selling club, for a club that had the 14th biggest revenues in world football when he bought the club. What has he done to erode that ? I hoped he would spend it, that said Ba for nowt (in transfer fee) and him reducing his exposure (if he has, as I suspect) as opposed to Ruiz for £10 Mill, for example, is perfectly fine, in fact it's even better. so what about the other 30m or whatever ? Where is that ? In view of the fact they picked up Ba for a good fee and he looks an extremely good buy and footballer, don't you agree that other positions could have been strengthened using this foolproof scouting system employed, which is what a progressive club would do, especially if they had confidence in their scouts ? See post #40 and try and comprehend what you are reading. BTW, Looking forward to your disection of Shinton's post. LeazesMag 0
Exactly, enjoy the football and deal with the if's and but's when they happen. Decent manager, squad that's 100% committed and some very good players. When was the last time we had that? errrr......when we finished 7th a year before Mike Ashley bought the club ? You said they bought Ba, what about the other 30m quid ? I'm not asking you again, my question is clear enough. What about the other 30m quid ? Why wasn't that used to strengthen other areas of the first 11 ? Particularly when we have such great scouts. We also did not strengthen immeasurably in the summer, and the ONLY position people were bleating about was not another striker. Again, if you are happy with that summer [that makes about 2 out of 10 transfer windows so far is it ?] it only shows your low expectations and demands. The injuries we have are now going to ram this point home, when James Perch has to come on, and we have 3 members of a back 4 consisting of Danny Simpson, James perch and Ryan Taylor, it only shows you are easily pleased and the transfer window was way short of what a progressive club would be looking to bring into their team, especially with 35m quid burning a hole in the bank. You should try telling us the truth. You thought he was going to back his manager, which is why you said "this is the first time he has had money to spend", then he didn't back his manager. You wanted to say "who says we have no ambition", but now your backing into this "recouping", this is what he has been doing all along, and is what he will continue to do for as long as he owns the club. It is a vehicle for Sports Direct, he will make operational profits and sell a player if necessary to do it, and will use the club to promote Sports Direct worldwide for free. Premiership survival and publicity for Sports Direct is all he wants and all he ever wanted, this is the limit of his ambitions and his sole aim. This is why he bought the club. It has been obvious for years. Anyway, I'm going to leave this now. I don't expect any of the Ashley apologists to answer this question. Striker/bleating - yes it fucking was. Injuries - when you're down to 4th/5th choice everyone would be plumbing the depths. No-one has "quality" 4th and 5th choice anything. The back four has included Simpson and Taylor all year and has performed better than just about every back four in the country, a good back four is a unit and is often greater than the sum of it's parts, it's down to coaching and discipline and a bit of class. Supporters who put their hard cash into the club can tell you how thick you are. because they will tell you that selling your best players and not backing your managers will never bring success in a thousand years. LeazesMag 0
what did you say he wanted to do with the money AT THE TIME, when you said "this is the first time he has had money to spend". When some on here (me included) post similar to much of that you'd be over it like a rash answer the question. I did (post #40) Re strengthening, we strengthened immeasurably in the summer btw. The ONLY position people were bleating about was another striker, but BA has put that to bed to a point, although a better quality back up for him would be a nice addition in January. no you didn't. You said they bought Ba, what about the other 30m quid ? I'm not asking you again, my question is clear enough. We also did not strengthen immeasurably in the summer, and the ONLY position people were bleating about was not another striker. Again, if you are happy with that summer [that makes about 2 out of 10 transfer windows so far is it ?] it only shows your low expectations and demands. The injuries we have are now going to ram this point home, when James Perch has to come on, and we have 3 members of a back 4 consisting of Danny Simpson, James perch and Ryan Taylor, it only shows you are easily pleased and the transfer window was way short of what a progressive club would be looking to bring into their team. Fuck you are thick The Carroll money, post #40 in language you may understand: Mike Ashley sold Carroll for a geet big cake, he cut up the cake, some of the slices of cake he gave to to club to eat, the rest he kept himself (I believe, but not yet proven)to replace thenumerous catering packs of Mr Kiplings he'd previously given to the club. I would suggest Colo is the class (or glue that holds it together, if you prefer). Who are these quality 4th and 5th choice CB's we should have bought ????? fuck. You think its OK for Ashley to pocket the money from sales [because you're putting nothing into the club] so don't demand what people who go to games demand from the club. You're also fooled by a small run of games into thinking the club is progressive and aiming for success. Would Liverpool supporters, or Spurs supporters, or other clubs who have experienced success, think their team was on the right lines on the back of a small run of games like that ? No, they would not, and neither did NUFC fans when we had a team that we knew would be near the top at the end of the season rather than in November, which only proves how stupid you are, and lack understanding of football. Monroe Transfer 0
I really don't know how you two manage it. Can only assume that it's entertaining the both of you.
