hostile_statue 0
Perch hasn't been that bad when playing CB (yet). I'd say playing him is preferable to throwing in Kadar or playing Tiote out of position. So the question is, as cringeworthy as it may sound, who to place alongside Perch. Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
Why do people think Tiote can play centrehalf? Just because he can tackle? There's a bit more to it than that.

hostile_statue 0
Tiote at centre half wise up the fellas tiny i'd be surprised if he was any taller than 5ft9-10 at most ffs  "Tiny" is not the word I would choose but yeah official site says 5'10 ½ (1.79 m). toonotl 2941
Just to play devil's advocate for a moment. FCB, Pep, Mascherano, 5ft9in.
StevenL 0
It's a very ignorant comment to make, infact I don't even know why I'm responding to it really. Vermaelen and Jagielka are an inch taller then him. Cannavaro's smaller. Small people don't make bad centre backs. Â I wouldn't want to see Tiote play there mind. Don't trust him. Aeris 0
There's no huge difference between a player like Vermaelen and Tiote. Vermaelen's probably a wee bit stronger in the tackles and headers but that's it, and Tiote can still do a way better job than Perch (which is btw 1 cm taller than Tiote lol). Aeris 0
Tiote has the mindset of class defensive midfielder which is pretty similar to the mindset of a CB only with a less rigid style of playing, he's a good positioner, brave, determined, aggressive etc. Tell Tiote to play more rigid and you got yourself a CB. Sorry, but I don't agree with the bolded bits at all. It's a completely different position, needing a completely different skills-set. I knew someone would mention Mascherano too. Andrew 4713
and the difference with mascherano is that he doesnt actually play remotely like a CB when he plays on barcas backline, without pique and puyol Barcelona actually play pretty much without a defence at all

agreed, even at the level I play at, nevermind premier league, playing as a DM and a CB are totally different trades, physically they require similar attributes but thats as far as the comparison goes

Aeris 0
So you're saying Perch got a skillset more suited for CB??? Perch doesn't even come with a skillset, so I don't think so..... we are only speaking about the next two games or so anyway. Tiote it or lose it... Andrew 4713
Perch is a defender though and has at least spent some of his career at centre back unlike tiote  Id feel better about sticking in perch and having tiote in front of him to try and stop things before they happen  remember how many fouls tiote gives away and how often he gets booked, now lets sacrifice our best DM by moving him to CB and also moving a lot of thoes fouls 20-30 yards closer to goal where those bookings potentially become reds  hes a class defensive midfielder, if hes fit, thats where he should play

Aeris 0
Perch is puny , no good in the air, not even close getting ready to mark a strong opponent, sloppy tackles, indecisive, doesn't position well, and the list goes on... just warning you - he will fuck things up
