We have 8 or 9 possibly 10 players good enough to play in the CL, either because they've played there already, qualified for it or their form is objectively good enough (e.g. Krul).

we've got 5 or 6 players that are good enough for Newcastle United, if it were up to me that is.

I'd rather have the team we've got now than the one your man Shepherd had when he left the club.

Some players good enough for CL but not good enough Newcastle?

Krul, Colo, S Taylor, Santon, Cabaye, Tiote, Ben Arfa, Ba are definites. Cisse and Jonas (based on international pedigree) are tbd.

Not seen anything of Cisse so cant pass comment. However Jonas I would say should be a definate. The slower game would suit him more tbh.

The Ben Arfa who never got a kick against Blackburn?

From the little I have seen on BArfa of late I would question it too. BUT I would say he has the attributes and the way Rapey is using him, he isnt getting the best out of him.

I doubt it however most of us thought we would drop off after our tough games through November and December, and when we found out Tiote was injured or while our players were away in the ANC yet we are still up there.

Shepherd never owned the club mate.

Wait and see if your man even qualifies for europe and the Champions League half as much as the Halls and Shepherd before you make daft comparisons, and he is 4 years down already.

Don't forget Ameobi. He's scored in the Champions league.

As i already said, its not a rule otherwise you'd have Obertan in. Am saying you can build an argument for a player being good enough for the CL either on form, or on the basis that they've been there and done it, or qualified already. What we know about Ben Arfa's natural talent plus his pedigree in the tournament builds a case for him being good enough (an unequivocal one).

He was the Chairman therefore he was "in charge" day to day, his shareholding is completely and utterly irrelevant.

aye, sure it is. Have you worked out the context of that comment in your own sig yet, or is your hatred agenda still dominating every daft comment you make ?

Can't believe he persists with this one after it's been pointed out to him a million times, but then at the same time I can't understand what point he thinks he's making anyway in saying it. Don't imagine he'll try to explain it like because he obviously can't. This is the level of stupidity you have to sink to to operate at his level and 'debate' though. Fuck that.

my reply to you is the same as to him Baggy.

We haven't even finished 7th yet [the position we were in only 12 months before "Shepherd" sold the club to Ashley]. Your predictions are as way out as always by the way, starting with that stance you had about the DOF structure would bring certain automatic success because Spurs employed it. Where is Mr Wise these days, and Kevin Keegan who you slated ?

because it's true :icon_lol:

There are several documented statements about Douglas Hall saying how "they" replaced Bobby Robson for starters. Do you really think Sir John Hall, as the major shareholder in a big football club that they build up from nothing, to be daft enough to allow someone else with a lesser shareholding to run the club single handed ?

If you do, there's only one stupid cunt here. Well, more than one, but I'm talking to you specifically at the moment.

Embarrasing thread.

these constant references to Freddie Shepherd runnning the club single handed, and appointing managers all on his own, are far worse than that. No wonder people laugh at Geordies. Such rubbish gives us all a bad name.

Exactly.

you're right for once, what a shame your diagnosis is way out.

Why don't you explain to us all, a reply to my previous post, why Sir John Hall would allow a person with less shares to run the business single handed in the way that it was clever cunt ?

Are you daring to suggest that Shepherd wasn't in the least bit autocratic? :icon_lol:

are you saying that Sir John Hall and Douglas, were stupid ? :icon_lol:

This sort of rubbish, is exactly what proves people engage their irrational personality hatred before any brains that they may possibly have.

Not for the first time.....sigh
