McFaul 35
Missed shot costs £7m FAILURE to qualify for the group stage of the Champions League wiped over £7million fromNEWCASTLE UNITED profits this year. But chairman Freddy Shepherd reassured investors that finances are in good health and unveiled a new five-year deal with kit sponsor Adidas. Player wages were down a shade and ticket revenues grew. Annual profits fell £7.2million to £20.4million. £20.4m not £25m. There's another season where it was £18m as well. Pipe down before you know what you're talking about mate. Source? ffs Can you not just accept I'm right and you're wrong. History shows that would be inevitable outcome. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/money/city/172429/Bang-go-jobs.html?print=yes

LeazesMag 0
Said at the time that they shouldn't be bankrolling Souness, dear boy, unlike our expert accountant ie Gemmill. When are you going to admit that your DOF system that you insisted would bring guaranteed success purely because of the system, has failed ? And that it failed here at Newcastle under Wise and Keegan when you supported Wise, and it has failed at your precious Spurs having been discarded by Redknapp who for some reason you are also now pretending you have supported all along ? The truth about Spurs is they were run "like a business, within their means" under Alan Sugar and we pissed all over them when we were run by football men, and now the situation is reversed and they are now run by football men and we are being run by "like a business, within our means" [and not even backing our manager with the money from sales, which is even worse]. But now you're saying we were giving him millions that we didn't have, I'm asking you how this is a sustainable business model? Also Spurs are ran like a business so I'm not sure what you're on about there. sorry but Shepherd never owned the club. Anyway, when are you going to reply to what I said and admit what you said about Spurs under a DOF, Newcastle under Wise and Keegan and a DOF, then tell us how your Comolli is getting on at Liverpool, or is he encouraging them also to spend money they don't have ? You have came back on here with your tail between your legs, the least you could do is admit the crap you spouted and admit this is the case. Guest alex
Pre-tax profits mebbies? Anyway, the point still remains. The figure Stevie reported about wages to turnover is correct too. It all went to shit when Gemmill got hold of the purse strings.

So losing £20m in 2000 was good business? Or £9m the season after? Well considering we made £48m profit in 2003 and 2004, backing up my point we were financially secure, your point slating FFS handling of the club up to that point, is null and void. The operating profit is the turnover minus the outgoings over a financial year are you stupid? You've already made yourself look a cunt once, and now you're getting angry. It's in the genes. As a fan we'd all love to have seen them spend big money. From a strictly financial perspective it didn't work. Broadly speaking investing sums of money like that only works if you generate enough profit from your investment to repay the debt you incurred. How we spent in them in terms of players etc.. is irrelevant the club made massive profits, you denied it, like you denied we were in the deloitte and touche top 10 more than once. DON'T dig deeper.
