Would Carroll make the first team? If not then 15m is a lot for a bench warmer. In fact, based on last season's form, it's too much to pay for him.

Completely agree. I know it's a squad game but I'd rather have Cisse and Ba starting ahead of him. He needs to go somewhere where he will be guaranteed first team football, we couldn't give him that.

I think with top sides today, there is no first eleven, you should have 16-18 players who are rotated depending on the strengths and weaknesses of the opposition. For example, if a team had a centre half like Williamson, Carroll would be the first name on the team sheet for me.

If we want to make the step up to compete with the teams above us, then you need the odd 15m benchwarmer. If you only buy players who are happy knowing that they won't be first choice, then you end up with a big drop in quality outside of the first 11.

I'm convinced the source is right, but I don't give a fuck about being right or wrong, it's a piece of information that people may be interested in I received. Surely that is the principle behind this message board? Not being patronised by spotty little oinks from god foresaken places in the NW of England and miserable London based cunts who refuse to use capital letters.

Asprilla PM coming.

Nowt wrong with sharing a rumour you've heard, just don't be surprised when people take the piss when it doesn't happen after you bang on about it being a dead cert.

I don't care though, if I cared I'd never post any information I receive, it just gives people with nothing to say the opportunity to say something when they don't happen, so there's another positive.

Aye, but I'd like to see us spending £15m on a top class CB or RB who would be first team regulars before improving the bench. Not that they're necessarily mutually exclusive.

if we're talking that kind of money its got to be coming into the first 11. if we were to spend that on a CB that pushes Saylor and Williamson to 3 and 4 rather than 2 and 3 then our first 11 and bench have just got stronger.

I can see a loan to buy sort of deal happening before anything else if Carroll were to come back. I'd be utterly stunned if we went and bought him outright whatever the fee.

Us spending £15 million on somebody to warm our bench is not realistic though. I'd much rather we spent the money where we actually needed it, such as another centre half and a full-back for a start.

Who says he'll warm the bench though. You wouldn't call Drogba a bench warmer, but he only started 22 games last season, he'd be one of three top strikers.

No some information I received I thought people would be interested in. You're a little lad from Burnley who uses the internet to be cheeky to people you would never dream of being in person. Arsehole.

If your info is correct and LFC and NUFC are in talks I wouldn't be 100% confident we'd come out of a deal with no player/s going to Anfield as part of it, unfortunately I don't think it would be Nile Ranger, either.
