£71m for Downing, Henderson and Carroll.

You'll have to win Wimbledon, the Melbourne Cup and the Battle of the Somme before I think that's good value.

Those players would be part of three windows and an even less net spend of only 33 million, and up to now, there's only Carroll I wouldn't have had.

Don't see how the money spent will show anything by the end of the season, nothing that means anything anyway.

It's not as if we had a squad of similar strength before this season and your superior dealings will see you pull away, I think it's guaranteed that the gap between us will be closer at the end of this season than it was last.

We're already ahead of ourselves and you (atm) by qualifying for Europe, and with a piece of silverware.

I couldn't give a fuck how you spin it. That's a shocking outlay.

Nothing shocking about it at all, and how is it spin? Net spend is what it is, I don't see you saying you've spent 35 million over the last two seasons, why should I use Liverpool's gross spend.?

Okay Pacinofan, here's the point for the 3 years. 3 years ago imagine yourself being proud of winning of a League Cup and thinking you're ahead of Newcastle United (who were destined for relegation). Or two years ago, imagine seeing yourself delighted to be edging out then Championship Newcastle.

I've seen Liverpool win numerous trophies and I've been proud of every single one of them, even charity shields, regardless of who they're against, or who we were competing with (well it's a bit more special when it's against Everton) I said, imo, we're ahead of you now atm. I have never put you down, why would I? I think your team have done brilliantly this season and if you finish ahead of Liverpool I'd be the first to say well done, it doesn't really matter to me which team we're competing with, nor whether they're a team who've just been promoted or it's their second season of being promoted.

If I buy an overpriced car for £10,000 I don't say it only really cost me £5,000 because I sold my last one for £5,000.

In my opinion they were expensive, no matter who you ripped off elsewhere. I am entitled to disagree with you on this, no?

But you don't see the problems with what i'm saying? We've done brilliantly, but we're nothing still on Spurs who have improved massively since we went down, Man U who are as they always are and City who too have improved (with a shit loads of money admittedly). I also think we're lucky to be anywhere near Chelsea and Arsenal to a lesser extent, but this Liverpool squad is around the same level as us, and imo our first 11 is easily better. Being given 71 million to spend (irrelevent of income) and to be at a similar level as a team who has been given nowhere near that amount (and who sold you their 'best player' during this period too) is awful. Give me 71 million to spend on 3 players and i'd come up with better than Carroll, Henderson and Downing ffs . That's not even mentioning not using Carroll to his strengths. I'd kill to win a League Cup but that victory is masking poor performances in the league, that much is pretty much obvious.

Who you or I would spend it on is irrelevent if you trust your management team, I trust them even if they do buy a dud every now and then, they all do.

I'll have to agree to disagree with you as well, your squad is not as good as ours, imo, and your first 11 had the chance to prove they were better and failed dismally. Your team were terrible at Anfield.

If I was a liverpool fan I'd have shot myself by now. Disgraced themselves this season with the racist carry-on and general cuntery, from the manager downwards.

I don't feel the need to shoot myself, nor have I disgraced myself, but you're entitled to your opinion.

Without wanting to talk down winning silverware considering we don't win any, but it's only the carling cup and it was won by Birmingham last year so it's not really a sign of how great a team is at the moment.

The progress under Dalglish should be judged against last seasons league form, you finished 6th on 58 points despite having an awful manager in Hodgson for a good portion of it or so your fans think, it will be interesting to see how much better off you finish with the money spent.

Have we had Pacinofan's unbiased views on Negritogate?

No need, it's one mans word against another, so it's down to who you believe.

So you choose to support the guy who admitted using racist language?

Who mentioned great? If it's 'only' the Carling Cup why do so many teams find it so hard to win? Football is all about winning trophies, it's the goal that every team has at the start of the season. There are only three domestic trophies available, we've won one, that's progress for me, especially as we didn't have an easy run.

We've got 13 games to play, let's see how it is at the end of those.

Did he admit using 'racist' language? As far as I'm aware he admitted to using a Spanish word once during a conversation taking place in Spanish, he neither thought it racist, nor used it to be racist, hence why he admitted to using it once.

Wouldn't it be refreshing to meet one Liverpool fan who broke rank?

They're like Scientologists ffs.

It would be even more refreshing if anyone other than a Liverpool fan took the time to read the full report, do a bit of research, and then make comments.

You're using it to say how ahead of yourself you are compared to last season, as I said while it's nice to win it it's not really something you judge the quality of your progress on.

Like I said 58 points and a 6th place finish is what you should be judging your progress against and considering the money spent along with no Hodgson you should be bettering that by quite a bit, well that's what I'd expect anyway.
