Just back from Sharm in Egypt, sun, sand and all inclusive. Wonderful place to visit I would recommend it if you are after some winter sun.

High 70's all week, and even warm on a night time.

i went just up the road to dahab as a student. loved it. cheap as chips, copious amounts of weed. i did get some dirty arab asking if he could buy the lass i was with mind. i think it was 20 camels he offered me. apparently a good price.

My dad only asked for 2 camels when we were in Morocco for me - I feel cheated!

I went 2 years ago. Spent most of the holiday on the shitter.

I'd never go back.

+1

We went for a week. The resort was really nice though out and about they are kings of hassling you to go into their shop. We both came down with stomach bugs so didnt get too far out of the hotel.

It's meant to be one of the best places to go diving if thats your thing and you dont mind all the recent shark issues..

Yes with Thomson we flew from Doncaster. We went to the market twice and it was much better then the last time we went in 2007 where they hassled you to death. They can be very nice one second and nasty the next I just walk away you get used to ignoring people which goes against the grain but is necessary when travelling in Egypt. Trust me its worse in Luxor and Cairo. I only went for the sun and spent about £40 all week!

I went to luxor and going outside of the hotel was a major pain in the arse. You get hounded like mad from taxi horse blokes and shop owners. The horse bloke followed us for over a mile constantly badgering us for a ride and we told him we might look him up when we need to go back. 4 hours later after our meal and drinks we walked outside and he was there waiting for us shouting abuse cos we wanted to walk.

That said, in the hotel and hotel garden we were treated like royalty and it was worth it just for the hotel lark. Went over to the other side of the river where it's like going back in time - kids with no shoes pulling apple carts and a baby donkey lugging other fruit and veg along side them, houses with no roofs or electricity etc.. They gave us no bother at all and it was all very eye-opening. Wish I had a decent camera back then! Doh!

I wouldn't go back cos they catch Brits and sell them over the border to Iraqis for beheading/hostage stuff.

If anyone does go, it's well worth making up your own foreign language - they don't bother you when you can't understand them. Don't try a real language cos they seem to speak them all!

I was there a few weeks back for work. Went to Cairo and Alexandria. Overcrowded and mong-ridden. The shanty tower blocks on the Cairo ring road were like something from 'Inception'. I've been to loads of dumps in my time, but Egypt tops the lot. Full of dozy twats, tbh. 80 million frustrated muslims stuck in a delta with shag all to do, disaffected after realising that getting rid of a president hasn't made an iota of a difference to their lot. Scary.
