According to talksport we are going to sign him. Turned down Manure in his early years as his mother sent him to France as he got offered a better education.

Having a look at his record, he seems to be performing quite well in the french leagues as a midfielder. Anyone heard or seen him?

Going to start watching french football as we seem to be signing everyone in that league!

all the info i can find on him suggest he plays left wing/ striker. Seems like we'll have a lot of wingers if this goes through ...

Nothing wrong with having a few of them. Strength in depth.

I think he can play in central midfield as well. He's had a very good season so far, 6 goals, joint 4th top scorer in Ligue 1.

And probably not too expensive? Another release clause?

Credit where its due though, It seems like the current regime thinks everything above 5-8 mill is an inflated price, and I have to agree.

the 15-20 mill sums floating around for Billy Average premiership fotballer these days are crazy. Those sums should get you a world class player like in the old days, nowadays thats the norm... so they got that right. Absolute cunts on all other areas though.

Newcastle look to France again as Auxerre's Traore attracts interest from Tyneside

Newcastle are showing interest in Auxerre midfielder Alain Traore.

The 22-year-old Burkina Faso player may struggle to gain a work permit initially — a problem that arose when he went for trials at Manchester United five years ago.

England bound? Alain Traore is a target for Newcastle United

United wanted to sign Traore but needed him to go to their nursery club Royal Antwerp in Belgium first.

Traore, though, was offered a deal by Auxerre and has caught the eye this season by scoring six goals in 12 games from the left side of midfield.

Newcastle scout Graham Carr has had great success with his talent finding in France and Traore could prove another hit if the club decide to pursue the deal.

Burkina Faso are creating some very good players at the moment and are an up-and-coming nation in Africa. This player sounds promising.

Alain Traoré, Charles Kaboré and Bakary Koné are all promising young footballers, off the top of my head. Their youth teams have done well in recent years. They have a few decent older heads that given them a solid unit, but they're slowly becoming one of the more well-known African footballing nations.

Talksport and The Mail (at the very least when they use their 'Sportsmail Reporter' decoy because they know the story is fabircated and don't want one of their journos to be pulled up on it) are completely unreliable souces tbh.

Only Caughtoffside is worse than those 2. Let us know when it's reported by a publication with any credibility, thanks guys.
