Xmas nightmare....

Cheers peeps! It's like a recurring nightmare, as soon as they said her breathing was too shallow I knew exactly what was up. The chest x-ray this afternoon just confirmed it.

Got another problem, the missus is staying in hospital with her. As a result I have a 1 year old lad at home who's still breast fed at night and breakfast time so any lass out there with large mamaries who wants to lend a hand would be more than welcome. <_<

As for Finley, he can be bottle fed for a couple of days!

I'd offer to help, but i'm alittle too far away craig!

Seriously this must be awful for you, hope things improve quickly, it doesnt seem like 10months ago this happened to you, i'd have said maybe 5 months at most.

Well they reckon the lower lobe of the right lung is collapsed. Something (probably mucus) is blocking the tube to the lobe and this needs to be cleared - i.e. coughed up!

Might be some foreign object that she's swallowed, but neither of us can remember her choking on anything so suspect it's mucus.

Should be home at some point today

Well she's stayting in

another night. :(

The canular in her hand has collapsed so they're having to put another one in. She's lying beside me now flaked out and I'm contemplating eating her dinner (although I'm being put off by the fact that it's NHS grub)!

Oh yeah, they need to invest in decent Z-beds for the parents too. I woke up with horrid back-ache this morning!

Well she's home...

She's still officially under the hospital's care and has to go back on a daily basis for about a week for IV anti-biotics but at least she's in her own bed tonight

We've been given a box (yes, a box!) of medication which will probably last until mid 2008 and a plan of when she's got to have stuff. Also a portable nebuliser as she needs to use one 3 times a day for a week and officially is on oral anti-biotics for 3 weeks.

Scares me the amount of shit we're pumping into her body at the moment but as I say, at least we've got her home. Thank you all for the kind messages :(
