Tooj 17
I must admit, I was extremely frustrated with a lot of our fans today. So much for getting behind the team no matter what. When we hadn't broken Wigan down after about 30 minutes, there were loads of people groaning at every available opportunity today. Even though I don't really rate Obertan, some of the stick he got was shocking. Especially for a lad who is clearly a confidence player, when he's getting grief from all corners, it's only going to make him play worse. Say what you want away from the pitch, but when they're on it, wearing the shirt, get behind the lads as much as possible. Special mention to the two troglodytes that I have been given the pleasure of being sat next two all season. Especially the one bloke that when he gets agitated has a tendency to phlegm so much that it could travel all the way to the Leazes end. They both don't have a clue, don't get behind the team, turn up late, leave early at half-time, leave early at full-time. Actually takes some pleasure away from going to the match. Tom 14013
Spot on Jonny. I know there's expectation but people have to be sensible, Wigan have had a poor run of form so they were bound to be determined and give it there all, they weren't there to roll over. Not many players are mentally good enough to thrive in an atmosphere where the crowd audibly moan, groan & cuss when any one thing goes wrong, it's a viral atmosphere and it spreads. Obertan wasn't good today but the fans treated him worse, he can get better but he needs the correct environment to develop in. I think his skinhead makes people think he's a little older than 22. At the end of the day as much as it was patronising & packed with clichés the Luke Edwards article from the other week was fairly accurate. Happy Face 29
Think I was the only one in my section who clapped at the half time whistle. We weren't good 1st half but we weren't wolves either.
The Fish 10972
Nobody singing where I was sitting. On lad behind was screaming at Ben Arfa to "get into him man ya faggot", same lad screaming at Tiote to shoot whenever he had theball near the box. More and more like an audience than supporters imo

Said this at the match, after the game and on twitter today. The sarcastic cheers when he was subbed are ganna dee him no good at all, he's 22 ffs, and fair enough he looks poor but he won't improve with supporters making him feel unwanted. Also the groans. Fair enough we've only been there 5 games so far, and we all go "deyur me" every time there's a misplaced pass, because the cunt behind (mackem accent) must say it 25 times a game. Thay sang all match and there was only the odd 'Boooo' by the Bolton fans. Show some respect for the 'best fans in the country', Tom.
JawD 99
I can never get my head around booing one of your own. I know some players can be frustrating or shite but at what point is booing going to help that player? All it does is helps the players head drop further. Also we need to realise we are not suddenly this fantastic side. We've had a purple patch and have done well to get something from games we'd have normally lost. Need to keep a grip on reality tbf. Mind I reckon these next couple of months will do that. If we can stay top 7-8 by turn of the year I'd take that like.

Lets be fair here. Not one person on Tyneside is oblivious to the fact mackems are the biggest uncouth bunch of bamps on these islands with more bitterness than the John Smith's factory. However I think a lot of them acknowledge the fact we're a bigger club, with better fans and more fans. We are. However, they've been totally shite, one win all season, out the league cup, a manager about as popular as Souness was with us, so to take 4,000 to Bolton is a good effort that deserves praise imo. There's not many would take 4,000 there with that set of circumstances, none of the London clubs would for starters, Villa? Nee chance.

It's just they're quick to point it out if they think we are self praising our crowds yet they do it all the time.
StoneColdStephenIreland 74
It happens too many times that a small section of supporters feel the need to boo players when coming off or give a sarcastic cheer, I feel embarrassed each time it happens and it does no one any good at all, especially when theyre being singled out coming off the pitch it makes it even worse
