4 Asmir Begovic Stoke 44 106

5 Brad Friedel Tottenham 64 94

7 Shay Given Aston Villa 72 91

8 Ben Foster West Brom 85 84

9 Michel Vorm Swansea 91 82

10 Wojciech Szczesny Arsenal 96 81

HIs shot stopping last few games paying dividends. Some point blank stops and reflex saves against Qpr, Wolves and Spurs.

It's a bit frightening to think what he'll be like with a couple of seasons under his belt.

Fair reflection on how he's been playing and he doesn't have a world class def in front of him like the top 2.

Nor has he come up against as many world class strikers so far this season.

Swansea

Bolton

Spurs

Wigan

Fulham

Everton

Blackburn Rovers

To be honest as a fantasy football keeper in the league I'm in he's behind:

Player Club Value Points

Vorm SWA 400K 39

de Gea MUN 650K 37

Al-Habsi WIG 450K 37

Begovic STO 500K 36

Hart MCI 700K 34

Krul NEW 450K 31

Which speaks volumes about the opposition we've played and the lack of shots on target Krul has had to deal with, don't get me wrong he's made some "unbelievable" saves to keep us in games but he hasn't had to do the work other keepers like Vorm, Al-Habsi or Begovic have.

He's done well. Not saved peno's like Vorm or AlHabsi though, which gives stacks of points in those type of online games.

Anyway, when are Man City going to play someone decent and get found out? ;)

Sorry. Than Better keepers below him I mean.

Friedal for example. Played 4 out of 5 teams above him in the league.

Krul ain't played any.

Exactly. And Obertan looks relatively shit, whoever you compare him to.

End of the day, he can only try and stop the shots that come to him. The ball shouldn't reach the keeper at all if the defence do their job properly (obviously to finish a game where the opposition don't create at least one chance is very difficult, but that's not my point).

The fact he's got a great save-to-shot ratio is brilliant for us and for his development. Saving plenty of shots is easy enough once you have a rhythm going, but to go through periods where you're being tested very little and still manage to come up with big saves is the mark of a good keeper.

Go on defenders, Steven Taylor is the 5th best in the league, Danny Simpson is 10th. :D

 A damning indictment of those stats right there. To be slightly serious though, it is. How could you say those two were better than Coloccini having watched our games?

Taylor's a blocker and clearer, just a mass of bone and muscle to get between the ball and goal.

Simpson's an angles man, like a moving cone, he just does what he can to give the opposing player the longest possible route to where he will get to eventually, unimpeded.

Coloccini is an intelligent, confident tackler who'll take the ball from more attackers than those other 2 put together...the fact he tries this much more, means he fails more often too.

Tackle success rates for Sunday

Simpson 100%

Taylor 66%

Colo 50%

No-one won the ball more than Colo though, or attempted more tackles.

Stats can be particularly misleading for a goalkeeper like. He has been excellent of late though.

Exactly. Wont that save from Defoe that was decent and the save from Murphy which was amazing go into the same column?
