Goonies for me. Way before it became cool to have shite 80s films as your favourite movies.

Also loved Big Trouble in Little China and Beverley Hills Cop

before it was cool

In the 90s nee one was wearing Back to the future/goonies/ghostbusters T-shirts. You cannit fuckin move in town now for shops selling them at £25 a pop

 You're struggling with the concept of nostalgia. The further you get from the event, the more there is. Hence fewer T-shirts in the 90s.

I liked The Goonies in 1985 when it first came out, which makes me the coolest.

If anything that re-affirms them as great/popular films?

You don't see anyone wearing A.I. t-shirts right now because everyone thought it was wank.

Back To The Future

Indiana Jones

Ghostbusters

E.T.

Beverly Hills Cop

Naked Gun

Airplane

Die Hard

Crocodile Dundee (loved it as a kid)

(and I expect stick for this) Top Gun

But Back To The Future is clearly the best.

One of my mates openly spreads the word that top gun is his favourite film. I don't think he has picked up on the subtle themes running through the film

There's quite a surprising number of 80s films make it into the BFI top 100 considering the way in which the UK film industry was viewed at that time, i.e. on its arse.

Canny show aye. Would be in me top 10 eighties shows as would Terminator and 48 Hours, Another 48hrs (Nick Nolte class in them films) Desperately Seeking Susan was probably me fav chick flick of the 80's only appreciated it when a reached 13/14 for no other reason than I loved Rosanna Arquette, and Best British film probably My Left Foot.
