dbsweeney 0
I genuinely respect the lenient approach on this forum but Leazes ruins every thread he posts in, whether it's general chat or football. It gets harder and harder to enjoy any thread (especially football related) on here because the old fool will come in, ruin it then blame everyone else and post shit like "why don't you ask Manc Mag why he...". I have very rarely seen this forum get stick on other forums, the only negative comments I have seen are about Leazes and a good number are people who are quite new to the whole Newcastle forum 'scene' so haven't seen the history of the whole thing. Posters tell him over and over again to change the record but he just won't, fairly sure from comments by himself and admin that he has been warned on a number of occasions about this, he has even said he will change but he never does and never will. He really adds fuck all to this place, he really does his very best to ruin the place. Needs to fuck off or be fucked off tbh. It's so fucking tedious going through this bullshit in the majority of threads and I am sure he is getting worse. I've been one of those who's asked him to change his tune. He's capable of doing it. A few months ago now, he was challenged to not bring up the whole Ashley/Shepard line of comments for a whole week (or was it month ... I don't remember). And he did just that. Also, when he's not pushing the same line all the time, he often has a lot of decent things to say. It's just that recently it's been terrible and he seems to think he's playing a game of to-the-death brinkmanship. I agree, I'm sure it's very off-putting to newbies to come to the board. Gejon 2
Said numerous times, if he dropped that shit he would be one of the most knowledgable and interesting posters on the forum. Problem is, it's 5 years now (probably more tbh) and he still goes on about it like it was yesterday. I got soo much shit when arguing that Milner wasn't as shit as a lot were saying he was, if I spent my whole life arguing that because no player we have signed since was signed for/has been sold for £12m or £24m (+ I think with Ireland going the over way) I too could bore the absolute fuck out of the rest of the forum telling everyone I was 'right' every time we signed/discussed a player. I don't understand how he doesn't get this, he has been told so many times by so many different posters but he just can't drop it and has to be 'proven right' which just ruins it for every other poster. The sooner he finds a new hobby or somehow loses access to the internet forever the sooner this place will be able to have interesting debates and attract new members who are interested in talking about more than one subject. Toonpack 9978
Ashley's averaging about 16th so far. A sad indictment on his tenure, eh? His tenure could (should?) have been significantly better, but the relative depths we've plumbed have their seeds way back and (as has been my opinion all along) without a billionaire to bail us out we'd have sunk a damn sight lower. The final story of the "tenure" won't be known until it's done, but I would suggest finishing 9th or above, from where the club is now (and I don't mean just the league position, but general health etc) year on year is not beyond possibility and if Ashley can't accomplish that he is indeed, incompetent. If that raises us back to 5th best whoopee fuckin doo. It's a sad indictment of what is considered "success" when finishing regularly around 9th in a competition of 20 can make you considered the 5th best at anything. Last time I looked, competitive sports are about winning things and we have been crap at that since the 50's (1969 excepted).

Even worse, is posters encouraging others to be banned, just because they don't "agree" with them. You should fuck off back to the other non-supporting, faraway clueless knackers and 10 year olds from Singapore on Newcastle Online son. I would like to add that not everybody who lives outside the area, abroad, or is unable to support the club for whatever reason is clueless, some are very good posters who understand the club and know what they are talking about, there are a number of them on here, which only goes to prove that it is possible. Tell you what. YOU try making constructive, knowledgeable and informative posts about Newcastle United, instead of slating me like you are doing, and if you are correct in what you say, then you will find no problem with what I say either. LeazesMag 0
I would like to add that it would be easy for me to ignore the likes of Gejon and Gloomy, but urging the banning of someone is reaching a new low, probably as low, childish and pathetic as it gets, and warrants a reply. I would be hugely embarrassed if I ever seriously encouraged the banning of another poster simply because I disagree with them, then say that "everybody is entitled to their opinion". Nothing is stopping either of them trying to show something that shows me wrong. I wish that I was wrong about the direction this football club is taking. But I'm not. We have made a good start, and it is very nice looking at the table at the moment. But there is no point in people being fooled into thinking it means the club is on the right lines, and getting things right off the pitch and using it as a barometer pointing at a good future where we will challenge the other top clubs again. Because it is nothing of the kind. Long term the seeds are continuing to be sown of a decline and a lowering of standards. It has happened already and is only going to continue. A selective truth, sadly ignoring some pretty damn important other "stuff". But no need to revisit that roundabout. its the truth alright. Its also the truth, that people like you, who wanted this change made, wanted it for entirely different reasons that you claim you wanted it for now. Add to that, the fact you highlighted the average league position under Shepherd (still the 5th highest and irrespective of the fact that he NEVER owned the club] which only proved that it is still massively superior to that of your man since he took over 4 years ago. I have also asked you what your view is of Mike Ashley now earlier, and his ambitions and intentions for the club, as the transfer deadline is over, and you said for months that you would "revaluate" your view, as he "for the first time now has cash to spend" [words to that effect]. What is it ? Edited October 7, 2011 by LeazesMag

I was actually taking the piss out of you since you do it all the time. I also ignored the rest because it had nothing to do with any points I was making or had made. You were the one who brought up the average league finish under Shepherd and criticised it though. In that context it only seemed fair to point out the current lot have done significantly worse. The Fish 10972
Ok Leazes, here goes. What will it take for you to stop banging on about the same shit in every thread? Seriously? Do you need Gloom, Gemmil, Manc Mag and all the rest of us to say "Leazes was right about X"? Do you need a collective round of applause? Do you need a plaque to hang upon your wall? What is it? Literally no thread that you contribute to steers clear of your repetitive subjects. I was one who said anyone would be better than Shepherd because at the time I was frustrated beyond compare and I'm happy to admit I was wrong. There, will that stop you droning on about it, at least to me?

Asprilla 96
You could quite easily draw a parallel between the recent Labour years and the Tory era we're now in. Labour spent freely during the housing boom but it's debatable whether or not we got value for money. Now the Tories are in and having to deal with very different economic times and cut spending so as not to go bankrupt (albeit borrowing money if needed). Even if Shepherd was in charge now, there's no way he could act in the same way as he did then.
Andrew 4872
Leazes, people give you flak, not because of your shepherd support or anti ashley agenda or because you were/are right/wrong its because over time this has become the sum total of your contribution to this board and everyone is sick of it, not just the people you see as being on the other side to you all other posters who are somewhere in the middle are tired of it too you have GOT to accept that some people aren't going to agree with you because it was said a while back, you obviously love the club and you know your shit but you post about nigh on nothing else despite having this enormous backlog of knowledge and passion for Newcastle United and when (on the rarer and rarer occasion) you're not banging on the same old drum you are a good contributor to the board

None of us are of the opinion that a decent run (that could end any day now) makes everything alright. I don't really agree with that. I think quite a number of people are thinking this small decent run is maybe indicative of the current setup of the club as being the way to go. But it isn't. If you look at the views etc, there are people who are most def on the side of Ashley, some who are most def against the road he has taken, and some [quite a lot] who don't seem to be either, and simply babble on sitting on the fence to wait and see how it all goes. Then pretend they knew what they were talking about all along. Your comment "none of us knows what the future holds" is significant, because - you see - I am 100% confident that I do. And it isn't pretty. Its going to be nothing but more frustration at seeing good players leave, and missing out on targets and hoping the cut price signing fills the gaps, while the money received from transfers out disappears down a big black hole.
