If you can't be allowed to enjoy a good run then this place has truly lost the plot. But you express any pleasure at a sequence of good results and he's foaming to either a) misrepresent what you've just said as Pro-Ashley propaganda, claiming we're on course for a CL place, or desperately trying to goad you into a thinly veiled Ashley/Shepherd 'ambition' debate. Sad for the forum to be honest and could hardly be less appropriate either because almost every post expressing happiness has a massively studied air about it in the sense that people are at great pains to say they don't think 4th place now will mean 4th place in May. It never felt this political when I was a kid. It would be impossible for me to forget the shit that Ashley has inflicted upon this club. However it does have to be recognised that we're a very effective unit so far. We're proving very hard for teams to break down due to a solid work ethic. Several times this season we've been under the cosh yet the lads have ground out result after result. You can only credit the team for the effort this season, and I sincerely hope we build upon this great start so that we can look up the table rather than worry about getting caught in the relegation mire. FWIW i think we have an outside bet of going for Europe this season, either through a cup run or sneaking into the Europa League place. We definitely have some class in the side that we lacked during the relegation season. Players who actually want to play rather than sit on a massive pay cheque and contribute fuck all to the team. I'm still a little concerned however at FM's willingness to invest in our striking options because that's what's holding us back from being a truly competitive team. It was OK to whinge on when we played in europe and bought top players, but its now totally different when we win a few games against relatively easier opposition and are 4th in the league with over 30 games to go ? LeazesMag 0 Posted October 5, 2011 Share Posted October 5, 2011 (edited) yes. a group ignore might force him into posting about other stuff, which he can do surprisingly well when he tries. it's a shame that 99% of what he posts is the same old tired drivel that we've all read a million times. i'd actually take him off ignore if he were just to drop it and move on. the point about this sort of comment that you repeatedly make, is that you said I was spouting "drivel" years ago, but are now actually repeating it yourself.... We are 4th in the league after and easy set of fixtures. Big deal lad. There is a long way to go yet. By all means enjoy it, but lets not kid anybody that it means everything at the club is rosy, because its far from it. Anyone who is kidded by it, must be spectacularly thick. Its a shame that certain people can't acknowledge this, or even answer a few pertinent questions. Time will tell. If we do its more than likely down to luck but what the hell, you get luck both good and bad in every aspect of this game and to put it down to good luck would just as equally mean we put down a lower position as bad luck. But I didn't hear anybody calling for bans when the vast majority were moaning on when we actually had a good team etc though ? We actually have something to moan about these days.
