The fact of the matter is that we dont need more strikers, we need better ones. And proven quality is not going to be cheap. So the thought of a quality striker coming in, is something i think we can safely nip in the bud.

I think we'll sign a striker, who I dont know, but no doubt they'll prolong the signing of one, which will take the spotlight off the need for defensive back-up and it will be the only signing we make.

Depends a lot on injuries/form etc. If we keep going scraping decent results on a semi regular basis than I could see them sticking with what we have. If Ben Arfa/Ba/Best etc get a few injuries or we're playing shite I'd say we'll get a new striker in the 3-6 million price range.

i'm all for him pards talking up the players to build their confidence and keep the team spirit going. but this latest quote troubles me. even if the current lot do well between now and christmas, we could still do with another quality forward brought in.

If we spent £8m on Demba Ba then there wouldn't be that much expectation on getting a new striker. Likewise if Cabaye/Ben Arfa cost £10m as well. It's all perception in terms of the players we have. The core of the team looks solid to me. Of course Fatty should have strengthened even further.

 

I'll probably get slated for this but I think Ba will come good & Best will be decent squad player. With Ben Arfa & Marveux to come in then we can still go up a notch.

 

The huge problem we have at the mo is full backs. We desperately need 2 quality ones in January (Also need a good CB for cover). Left back especially. Jonas is doing an admiral job helping out Raylor but if we have some quality there we could well see a more offensive player (Ben Arfa/Marveux) add an extra attacking dimension on the wing. At the mo Jonas has to play.
