McFaul 35
I'm not getting into an Ashley debate with you Stevie, just want to point out i was saying from a footballing perspective. Getting rid of Allardyce was a footall decision, Keegan didnt go because of his perceived footballing value to the club it was because of Wise and politics. The SD stuff and singing section are not really footballing issues either. Appointing Kinnear was and remains the most idiotic thing the fat cunt has done from a footballing perspective. Appointing Wise was the idiotic footballing decision that led to the idiotic Keegan decision and the idiotic Kinnear decision. I wouldn't dismiss that as politics. It was a footballing decision that Wise would be in charge of who we buy/sell over the head of whichever manager was here. Me and me mate, nearly had a drunken punch up in the town after the Wigan game about Ashley. His gambit is he's a canny bloke who wants a laugh and was poorly advised. He's one of these kids, and there are many on here who are like him, who LOVES having an alternative view. By the end of the conversation he agreed he was a disgrace in his decision making up to the point of relegation. Everything since then he claims has been one master stroke after another, he dismisses my point about SD and L7, and says this season is vindication that his policies are working. His policies are working ALL my point is, it's fucking luck, nothing else, all Ashley's plan has been is to get the club in a position where we make as much money as possible, with business principles with an end game which is only known to him at this point. The footballing side has been excellent due to brilliant work by the staff, Ashley's input to it and how it has turned out from FMA and DL's input on things, has been pure luck, and that's it. The whole football world questioned his decision to bring Pardew in, it didn't make sense, he's got lucky that it's clicked in to place, he's lucky we found gems like Tiote and Cabaye, he's a lucky man and that's all there is to it. I've seen no evidence of a change in policy from Ashley from the relegation season. It's working for now. It failed miserably then. He's happy to take the rough with the smooth. Wise never kicked a football or coached a player but i see what you're saying but his appointment was only loosely based on footballing issues (it was more about a global view of how to run a club not how the football would be played at the next fixture). Keegan was constructively dismissed anyway, so there was no Keegan decision. Which was my real point.

Toonpack 10432
I think it's fair enough to credit Llambias and Ashley with getting Pardew in like. Same goes for appointing Graham Carr. You can still complain about the lack of cover and point out we've been lucky, so far, with injuries. I was being unfair on Stevie then, its just a few times this season i've read 'we're just lucky' in reference to the team's performance and i thought he was 'still peddling this'. The lack of cover and luck with injuries is without doubt fair enough. I support the team and the manager, if we win the Champions League I'll stay hate that wrongun looking casino manager, and the fat thick barrow boy. Even if that means he was right all along? I know why you say it and there is more to his reign than just the affect on the team but there is a basic logic at play here that doesnt make sense to me. Focussing solely on the football, he makes a load of decisions which piss you off because of your belief about the impact on the football. Those decisions lead to (in your example) us winning the champions league. Ergo, all his football decisions were correct and your opinion was incorrect. I know its hypothetical but if the things he did which you hated turned out to be correct, then your hate was mis-placed. Not that this matters that much, its just the internal logic (from a football perspective) makes no sense. Even if Ashley's decisions to sack Hughton and replace him with Pardew, cash in on Carroll and sell Nolan, Barton and Ricky and replace them with younger cheaper options turn out to be a massive success that leads us back into Europe, it won't absolve him of the wrongs he did in the past. The way he acted with Keegan was massively wrong showed a massive lack of respect for a club legend (which he then managed to do again with another in Shearer) and more importantly us fans. Even if it turns out that everything (in terms of getting shot of Keegan and not giving Shearer the job) was the right decision in the long run, the way he did it makes him a cunt. If he continues now to move the club forward in the right way, I can forget about that and rejoice in his good work but that won't change my opinion of him as a man. I won't be shouting for his head but I won't be lauding him either. "Nice" people, don't make the amount of cash he has, sadly. His "kind of person" is in direct proportion to his wealth I reckon. Guest Your Name Here
To be fair he did fuck all apart from his cross at Stoke, apart from chase balls and press, and I think the point that he didn't start at Blackburn was irrelevant considering we lost the game when he was on. He works hard though and will be a decent squad member, but this exposes how thin the squad is. Two injuries and we're thinking awe ffs Lovenkrands might have to come on and also if Marveaux or Jonas gets injured what do we do then? Call Lua Lua back? If Ashley fell in the Tyne now he'd bob up floating on a stolen Picasso with a salmon in his mouth. Lucky fat bastard. We are short and it's squarely down to him and Llambias. Am sticking with my theory about Obertan's main problem. You still peddling this 'lucky bastard' line? Am genuinely annoyed with you for not giving Pardew credit for the job he has done, the fat bastard might have been lucky appointing him, he might have known what he was doing, we'll never know. Whatever, it doesnt matter, Pards has done a cracking job and there is no way you can call our start to this season lucky. Unless you're Happy Face and you like pulling statistics oot your hoop for the sake of argument. HF really gets to you, doesn't he? I though everyone could see through our faux-rivalry. I just need a nemesis, he's the best i've got. Ah knaa man, just pulling your leg. It's canny funny though. The tension isn't 100% tongue-in-cheek however. The lack of proper rivalries on here is a change for the better I reckon. Great piece of business by team positive in the summer. I hear the new signings aren't doing too well on N-O. is that where CT and Deano fucked off to? £35 for CT, £50 for Deano, was decent business as alex says. As you can see from this thread, i've got fuck all cover yet am still beating all-comers. Fuck off you boring twat.
Kevin S. Assilleekunt 1
Does anyone want to see my interview with a Norweigan journalist? Tooj 17
Saying that it's Marcelino-esque. There's nothing to suggest that Obertan's injury is going to be anything like Marcelino's, Or that he's going to take the piss with it, like Marcelino did. If it's anything like the ongoing issue that I've had with my toe in the past, then I can see why he'll be out for a month.
Dr Gloom 22542
Bollocks man. He should get it strapped up, injected with cortisone and man the fuck up. An infection is not an injury it's an infection and infections reduce the effectiveness of painkillers. BTW My sister in law worked for a bloke who got a finger infection from a seemingly inocuous cut, he manned the fuck up and just got on with his work, cost him his arm and nearly his life, but you're right, infections are nowt.
