Welsh Magpie 0
So a man dies before he gets to see his beloved Wales play England why?... because of club rivalry disgusting those rivalry's get done on the pitch not off the rest should be banter hope you're proud murdering scum! This is just my thought im not sure of the full details but if it is club rivalry im horrified, I live right next to Swansea and know swans and bluebird fans who just have banter none of this mindless hurting each other. I would'nt even think of hurting say a Sunderland fan over club rivalry even how much i hate them but that's just club rivalry the grandfather of my baby is a Sunderland fan and we always mess about how i say my daughter will be a toon fan and he says she will be a sunderland fan... but nothing should resort to this never in a million years. It maybe not the Newcastle forum as it is about a different club but it happens in all clubs and these things shouldnt be happening over the beautiful game. Happy Face 29
Murder police have released on bail six men arrested after the death of a Wales football fan at Wembley. Michael Dye, 44, from Cardiff, died after being taken to hospital with head injuries and suffering cardiac arrest before the Euro 2012 match on Tuesday. The men aged from their 20s to 40s and all thought to be Wales fans, have been bailed till November, Four are from north Wales, and two were born in south east Wales, but live in England, police said. They were questioned at a north London police station by officers from the Metropolitan Police's Homicide and Serious Crime Command. A spokesman at Scotland Yard said inquiries were continuing "to establish the full circumstances of the incident". Mr Dye, from Ely in Cardiff, died in hospital shortly before 21:00 BST on Tuesday. Cardiff City supporters have been leaving tributes to Michael Dye, known to many as Mikey, at the club's ground Tributes were left at Cardiff City's stadium, while Mr Dye's colleagues at the city council said they were devastated. Mr Dye's family are also said to have visited the stadium to see the tributes, while 6,000 people have paid tribute to him on the social networking site, Facebook. Meanwhile, there are plans to remember Mr Dye at Cardiff's home game against Doncaster Rovers on Saturday. Mr Dye worked as a mason for Cardiff council. Council chief executive Jon House said: "Staff at the authority are devastated at the loss of their colleague and friend who gave almost 20 years of good service to the council in a very specialised service. 'Passion and love' "Our thoughts are with his family at this tragic time and we will be offering support to his family and work colleagues." Mr Dye, known to many as Mikey, posted on the Cardiff City Forum internet site. Click to play Cardiff City fan Gwyn Davies knew Mr Dye for more than 30 years through their love of the club Stadium manager Wayne Nash, who knew Mr Dye for 20 years, said fans had been left devastated by the loss of a stalwart supporter. "Upon reflection we feel humbled that the City meant so much to him," said Mr Nash. "Mike's passion and love for the club was renowned and we will greatly miss his commitment, desire and fervour at matches, both home and away. He followed the club everywhere and will be very much missed." It is not believed inter-club rivalry is behind the incident. The six men were all arrested inside Wembley stadium - in the Wales supporters section - some time after police and the ambulance service were called to a concourse area outside. Tim Hartley, chairman of the Cardiff City Supporters' Trust, said fans were "absolutely stunned". "Mikey's death is a tragedy for football and, more importantly, for his family and friends, and all Bluebirds fans are thinking of them. 'Sad world' "Mikey was well known for supporting Cardiff City and Wales at home and abroad. No one should ever fail to come home from a football match." Meanwhile, Phil Sumbler, from the Swansea City Supporters' Trust, said: "It is a sad world when someone goes to a football match to support his country and is denied the opportunity to come home in such a tragic way. "The thoughts of Swans fans everywhere are without a doubt this morning with the friends and family of Mikey and this is extended to the whole Cardiff City family who will feel sadness at the events." An incident room has opened at Hendon police station. Acting Det Ch Insp Sheila Stewart said: "I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident involving Mr Dye, which occurred on the concourse of the stadium near Gate C, to please come forward. "It was understandably busy and I'm sure there must be lots of people who can assist the investigation." http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-14822494 Edited September 8, 2011 by Happy Face
