Smooth Operator 10
Aye thats right, the night sky had closed in by half time though and I could only tell he was on the pitch when he smiled! Same with Rule Fox a few weeks back! 70326 Kick them out the country I say! 70329 Racialist tbh but i've always said when you watch the likes of Crimewatch and they do the rogue's gallery thing, there's rarely ever a born and bred Britain on there these days. It's always Abdullah this and Mohammed that!
manc-mag 1
Since I've been watching, John Cornwall. As for Stimpson, I never thought he was that bad, but his own goal in the last minute againt Oldham still haunts me. 70165 New Years day. Got to that game late just as the Oldham fans were all leaving (totally misjudged it-early kick off). We were one up and they were top of the league. Literally the only thing I saw was Stimpson put through his own net, the Oldham end go berserk and the final whistle. Will never ever forget that. Him and Wayne Fereday for me. Nailed on. Though I'm sure some of the older gen would be able to pick from a cast of thousands.

See Charlton away (I think, soopadweeb Craig will correct me I'm sure) 88-89 for a defensive master class from the man who I still can't work out which was his alleged strongest foot. Zathras 244
Give a thought to Brian Pinas. Although the name did go some ways towards making up for the play.
Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
Don't mock Pingel and his SS haircut, there was no-one better at shouldering in a ball from 6 yards. 70175 Step forward Mr M. Owen.
Craig 6682
Stimson is now manager at Grays and made some comment the other week about 'how he himself never made it to the big end of the league' Can't believe none of you have mentioned Rob McDonald tbh. Now there was a pile of shite!

Rob W 0
in 40+ years I think Marcellino stands head and shoulders above the rest - its not just lack of ability we're looking at - the whole team has been berifit at times - its the add-ons - the lack of effort, the "I couldn't give a toss" and the plain stupidity we have to take into account

David Kelly 1245
Rob McDonald was awfull but it has to be Fumaca. If he's footballer I'm a brain surgeon. He has no business on the pitch of any team let alone one in the premier league. Pat Herd was possibly the worst to ever play in more than just a couple of games! Guest alex
Incidentally, from .com : "Our last Boxing Day away success came back in 1988, when we went to Hillsborough and won 2-1 thanks to Rob Macdonald and a slightly fortunate winner in front of the Kop from Michael O'Neill. " IIRC, Gullit played for Feyenoord, I seem to remember something about him having played with him. I could be talking shite mind
sweetleftpeg 0
Macdonald certainly was bought from Holland, although I can't remember which team. I remember when we bought him and my mother ganin 'it's not a very dutch name like'.

Which of course makes the other stuff worse.

Craig 6682
Think it was indeed in that interim period when Suggett was in charge that McDonald came over.. Mind you, the other signing Suggett made was a damn sight better - anyone remember who that was?
