McFaul 35
You should've just posted that. It's pretty much spot on imo. Apart from the squad being worse than 08/09, it's more balanced if more threadbare imo. If we go down I'll give you £100 for a charity of your choice. TicTacWoe 0
Some real OTT stuff going on here, we should have gotten a striker in but the squad really isn't bad at all. Good enough to finish between 8th and 12th in my opinion. I prefer this squad to the one that got relegated full of has-beens and players who couldnt give a fuck (having been largely gutted of the actual talent in Given, Milner and Nzog that season). We're one striker and a right back off having a really decent team. Look at the other squads outside of the top 6, they all have weaknesses in varying areas, many of which have much worse squad depth than us. I said we'll come 12th, I think we will, said we'll come 12th last season and we did, agree with all of that. We badly needed a striker and someone at centre half, although not heart broken we didn't get Ridgewell.

I should've been more specific (squad's arguably worse on paper now but the team spirit / chaos behind the scenes were different but that's by the by) and I don't think we'll go down but he's right about the attitude of the club and how that will eventually translate into anyone decent not wanting to hang around. Fwiw I've already said I expect roughly the same league finish as last season so I agree with you when you say 12th-ish.
Phil 6
The lucky to even draw one amused me, seeing as though of the 6 games against those three we only lost fucking 2, with a squad no better or worse than this one. You're an idiot. I wouldn't go if I didn't expect to beat Fulham, Stoke, Sunderland, Aston Villa at home, and amongst the teams we can't beat Chelsea last season 3 games no defeats. Sort yourself out son. I don't care about the previous stats, asshole. The squad is definitely worse than when the club got relegated the last time, and with ambition completely swept away - how long do you expect the team spirit to last when doing great stuff for this club only results in Ashley dragging the club further down the ditch? An utter shite manager and the board giving fuck all to aid the club, what sort of message do they give the team as inspiration to win matches this season? While all the other clubs strive to go upwards in the league, this club are the only one that seems to be actually working hard to go the opposite way. Certainly I did some gloomy and generalized prognosis, and took very little time to reflect on previous meetings, but I was merely just to make a point of what fuck all there has become of this club. How can you forget Butt and Gerimi...!!!
ewerk 31225
We have a lot of uncertainties in our squad. We've made big changes and should those players brought in fail to perform then we could be in a relegation battle. On the other hand, should they turn out to be world beaters then we could be challenging for Europe. In short, anything could happen. One for the prediction thread right there. OTF 7496
For the record I think any thought of relegation are a knee jerk reaction. Of course anything is possible, but it would take exceptional circumstances - like in 08-09 for us to be relegated. In some ways it's lucky that we've managed to keep some quality in the squad, or else at the level we're operating in the market of late relegation could have been a very real consideration. Billy Castell 0
As I had eluded to before, there are enough teams in a worse position than you to keep you up. For instance, Swansea look solid, but can't score a goal, and Blackburn perhaps have a slightly better squad, but the worst manager in Premier League history who is adored by naive and cretinous owners. Norwich and QPR could do a Blackpool/Hull and sink from Christmas onwards. You have 7 points already, and Blackburn have 0, and have no idea where the first points will come from. jaythesouthernmag 0
The three that came up will go down, Blackburn and Wigan will struggle we will finish mid table or just above. I'm looking forward to a massive on field bust up between Joey and Taarabt, which will happen at some point. Swansea have no hope and I think Norwich will be close. adios 717
After the improvements the clubs have made during the deadline day, I've tried to do the prognosis of where we will gather points this season. So far this is where I'm at: Teams we should be able to beat with the most certainty this season, 65/35: Norwich, Swansea Teams we are regarded as favorites, but in truth a very tight match, 55/45: Wigan, QPR, Wolves, WBA Teams we are regarded as slight underdogs, 45/55: Blackburn, Everton, Bolton Teams we need very good luck to beat, 40/60: Teams we need excessive luck to even draw, 35/65: Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool Teams we can't beat, 20/80: Chelsea, Man Utd, Man city Absolute nob this kid like, am sorry but he is. 40/60 Sunderland, Fulham, Stoke and Villa. Do one mate. It's just based on squad strength per today, I know we've already beaten Sunderland & Fulham, but there was many lucky circumstances for why we did so. Anyway this were pretty shitty predictions I acknowledge that. The lucky to even draw one amused me, seeing as though of the 6 games against those three we only lost fucking 2, with a squad no better or worse than this one. You're an idiot. The Fish 10972
We won't get relegated, but this season's hope of being entertaining disappeared when the window snapped shut with no striker coming our way. We're still going to end up in the middle of the league, but if we'd signed a striker we may have seen a few decent scorelines. I expect few games with us putting more than 2 or three past an opponent. Most of them will be wins by the odd goals* *or draws and losses of course
