I think previously, 'winning ugly' would be looked upon very positively because good sides win ugly then win some more when they start playing well. With us, 'winning ugly' is seen as the preamble to an arse kicking in the future because people have extrapolated their mistrust of the board to the players and the manager. Who could blame them.

I have no problem with us winning ugly, frankly I'll take any three pointer.

What I do have an issue with is the sudden wankfest on twitter where people are talking top 4 finishes and stating "fantastic result".

It was a sloppy win over Fulham against the run of play. Its anything but European form. We've done well over the first 3 games but none of the performances instill confidence that the seasons going to be a good one.

You do realise that the majority of these will be the younger Newcastle fan who are quite within their right to get excited by games and dream the impossible.

What's your excuse?

My excuse is I fucking delighted we've won three games in a week, drawn with Arsenal, are into the next round of the cup and have just signed some Italian who I have never heard of......me :D

Newcastle were wank on Sunday in my view. First half was one of the most boring 45 minutes I've ever spent at SJP, we couldn't get the ball for 20 minutes and they never looked like threatening Krul. There was more energy in the second half a lot of huff and puff, and we scored two goals because of errors not because we're good. Fulham are shite too, wouldn't be surprised to see them go down this season. I left the ground thinking we only need 30-33 more points and we're safe, rather than we really can come top 8 or 9 to be honest.

Simpson was simply abysmal I didn't buy the chronicle but if he got more than 3/10 Ryders is arselicking. He was asleep for most of the game, could've cost us goals, woeful passing, just embarrassing, struggling to remember a worse game off a toon right back tbh

His mind might well be elsewhere to be fair. Its actually a sad state of affairs that we have no-one even close to replacing him in the squad though.

He said the kids alright now though, everything fine. He can't still be going on about that, it's been fine for weeks.
