Aye well only a sad fat shitebag like Ashley would get rid of one of the best players we have to another Premiership side who will be in the bottom half with us. All for free and no replacement I bet.

Trumps anything the Everton Chairman has done.

Think of the accounts, man! 3.5 mill in wages saved!

Haha yeah it's a ridiculous state of affairs... I mean I dont really like Barton (in fact I dislike him a lot) but there's no denying he's a very good footballer and even with 12 months left on his contract is worth around £4m.

At what point does Ashley stop the selling? I mean surely your wage budget is now fairly low for your revenue? Why do you think he is making all these cuts? Is it to then sell the club on for more money than if it had a large wage bill and debts?

I have no idea. You'd have thought he'd have learned his lesson from the relegation season that if you sell your best players without replacing them, you'll struggle. But it seems not. I think he gave up with the club after the keen debacle. Ever since then, he's viewed it purely as an investment, a cash cow. He doesn't give a shit about making us a success on the field, only profitable off it, despite what the fans think of that.

So is he taking the profits out of the club and sticking it in his own bank account?

You'd think that if Ashley was trying to sell the club he'd be trying to polish up the image of the club.

Or if he was planning to or re-float it at some stage.

Maybe that's the reason he's ruthlessly stamping out the big mouths and stable whisperers.

That's the hope, but it's getting to the point where I think he can enjoy any wins we pick up and be unmoved by any bad results. This is a toy for him. Sure, if some billionaire offers him £300m he'd take it, but that's just not going to happen.

Tbh, I think Ashley is trying to make the club as cheap as possible to attract more buyer attention, he knows all too good he's not wanted here...I frankly don't understand why anyone hasn't made the bid by now, we have everything you could wish for in our club.

Cut costs to the bone and wait and see.

Maybe in 5 years time another flotation. He timed Sports Direct nicely.

I think they're stuck Everton to be honest, if you were wanting to buy a club and you had a choice between us and them you'd look at the following.

Newcastle Everton

9 Fanbase 6

10 Fan Loyalty 7

9 Stadium 4

9 Facilities/Training Ground etc.. 9

9 National Interest 5

7 History 8

9 Potential 6

ATYP (It'd be 10 if it were not for the whole calling lunch 'dinner' business).
