shittin bricks here like

Really?

You fear them?!? Come on PP your an intelligent fella....surely you can see we have a better side than them?

Pint half full and all that jazz

100% shitting it, I know Im generally a pessimist where NUFC are concerned but this time it is genuine fear. I think we're a team in disarray at the moment. All the wrong signals are being sent out by the club, shite pre-season and generally arent looking like we're capable of grabbing a goal from anywhere plus they'll rape us down the left.

The silver lining is that should they tonk us, the pressure will be on Ashley to strengthen.

Not that he'll bastard listen like.

Im not nervous about this at all.

It will be a typical derby game full of blood and thunder tackles and commitment from both sides. But ability-wise we are well better than them, its just whether the lads have gelled through the weeks training.

1-1 at half time in a tight 1st half, 3-1 at the final whistle. Shola, Barton and S.Taylor :icon_lol:

Barton---Cabaye---Tiote---Jonas

Shola---Ba

:lol::lol:

Bench: Harper, Williamson, Ferguson, Gosling, Obertan, Marveaux and Best

I don't really want to watch this, its the most scarred about a derby ive been in a long while. I know I wont be able to stop myself finding a link to it though, just hope we somehow manage to grab a narrow win or draw at least. In the back of my mind are visions of Sunderland tanking us, praying that doesn't happen!

Think pressure's pretty much on them, and it's palpable amongst their number.

Could easily go our way.

Bruce has been out and been given 70m or so in last 2 years and has been saying yesterday that the ambition for their season is to finish above NU.

I'd say that's not potentially a particularly rewarding investment to a hood-winked investor, that the height of their ambitions would be to out-do us in the league for such outlay - especially given our situation with whoeverthefuck upstairs .

There's a chance their players' arses could drop under the nervous expectations. if we can pacify the first minutes then if we can have a bit of 'togetherness' and gain some confidence on the pitch, hopefully there'll be a bit more from our new signings and 'established players*' Brian.

Pressure certainly on them and they fully expect to thrash us. All predictions from the unwashed are 3-0's and 4-0's etc. Thats their level of expectation. But, like PP says, we're a mess at the minute. It feels like we are still in pre-season. We've still not replaced our forward and let our LB go despite talking bollocks about having plans to replace. First Pardoo said he wanted 2 in before this game, then he was saying it would be harsh to put new players in anyway for such a game. Once again, tripping over in own bullshit.

best I think we can hope for is Barton leading the middle and keeping the tempo high, not letting them play. We have a decent CH pairing though Taylor is prone to giving pens away and I could see Gyan trying for that. Alsl reckon they'll try and wind up Barton. I'd take a nervy 1-1 now.

Got my stomach churning watching that. If only you knew the score at the start of derby week you could flipping enjoy it.

Its my wedding anniversary on Saturday and the wifes going really overboard about how good my present is going to be off her. Now of course this could just be a ploy to ensure her present is impressive, however I just have this niggling feeling that she has managed to get me a ticket for this.

Now dont get me wrong, a ticket to the derby is a wonderful thing, but I've always disliked going to the away ones. At St James you are mainly with your own and their fans are a small section so that if all goes wrong you can try and ignore them and get quickly out of the ground to drown your sorrows while they are locked in.

The thought of being trapped in their stadium to witness a defeat makes me feel physically sick. Im the sort who usually goes for a walk when the penalty shoot outs are on because I cant bear to watch.

As I said at the beginning, stomach churning.

OMG: Well, thankfully it wasnt a ticket for the Sunderland game......but.....OMG.....it just happened to be a fucking season ticket! :D :D :boogie:

Cant believe it. so so happy. Couldnt justify it myself, but as its a present.....

I'm hoping Barton is fully prepared after last week and he stays calm and ends up winding up Cattermole (who is even easier to wind up than Joey).

We are in a mess but they just aren't much cop. They've wasted a lot of money again for me. With what they've spent they should be streets ahead of us by now but I just don't see it. Their strike force is better obviously but with the exception of left back, the defences are pretty even. It's the midfield where we have to win it so we need big games from Tiote Barton and Caybaye if we're getting anything out of this.
