Nyff 0
So what is it with all these french 'stars' we are getting in? I mean, fair enough it if it was just one or two, but aren't near enough all of our summer signings french-speaking? It this just another way of following the 'Arsenal model'? I really don't get it.. ChezGiven 0
Fairly obvious isn't it? Not just about value for money but also about acknowledging the importance of integration into country/city/squad. You can also look at it in relation to dealing with other countries. Spain's young talent is Spanish and well scouted, the same in Italy etc, whereas the French have west and north Africa to scout from too making the talent pool larger. The economics of their division also means it's cheaper and because of the larger pool of players, perhaps more willing to do business. Finally it makes sense to focus on one country since the resources required to scout extensively in multiple markets is probably prohibitive.
