Guest alex
I honestly don't know Stevie, which you could say is a cop-out. You're making a habit of it! It's a fair cop. I'll try not to use that word in front of Stevie from now on btw.
McFaul 35
From the pictures I've seen, there's been a fair mix of both black and white youths responsible for the riots, and they've been obviously complicit with each other (see that video of the wounded kid getting mugged by a both black and white man for instance). Racial harmony at it's best tbh. These riots aren't racially motivated and it isn't a race issue (unlike Brixton and Toxteth in the 80s). People are free to debate about whatevere they like and the 'PC' brgiade Tom mysteriously alludes to won't stop them either. It's just not really that relevant though from what I can make out. What's more telling though is that every single serious non-football thread goes down the same path at the instigation of the usual people, who then complain they can't talk about it. No one is suggesting it's racially motivated, but the fact is at least 4/5ths of these people are black regardless how many lies people want to tell. My question is why are 80% of the people who involved in these attacks from just 20% of the London population. You will all squirm because there is no comfortable answer to give. I honestly don't know Stevie, which you could say is a cop-out. Fair enough if you have an answer you don't want to give but you can't turn around and argue you can't say what you think on here, when you clearly can. If you don't want to say it, then why? I won't say it because there are so many arseholes ready to call the race card, even though my views are practical and honest.
Kevin S. Assilleekunt 1
Are you saying a lack of racist jokes on TV is to blame for the rioting, CT? Nowt to do with race, just uneducated scum that have been dragged up with no morals. I think you're probably right there, or as near as damn it, anyway. I wonder how many of them didn't / don't have a father figure. That's a big problem amongst charvas in general imo. I agree. Dragged up in a culture where pretending to be a gangster is cool and being an intimidating, violent figure who can dish out physical beatings = respect. The youth culture is also anti-intellectual and hostile to any prolonged thought or mindfulness. They think they're special, entitled; they want attention and material goods. Sad that it's come to this. There are major problems in inner cities with different groups of immigrants being hostile to one another too. That Mr. Howe or whatever his name is did a programme about it ages ago and got threatened by a load of Asian youths. Whether it's related or not, it still remains a real problem. Gemmill 44900
Click Here for two young women explaining their reasons for rioting and looting. ''It's cause of the rich people, with businesses'' They're uneducated, criminal, jobless, poverty stricken low lives. They're hardly in a position contextualise the political build up to the cuts, that lead to such anger, and a police force ill-equipped to deal with it. Maybe cos that's not what's motivating them. I know you're wumming though.

You're stating that as a fact but it's not backed up by what I've seen. But what's the implication supposing it's true? That black people are genetically inclined to criminality, or that black people are more likely to be poor, uneducated, and lack role models in their lives? While we're at it it would be interesting to hear LeazesMag's evidence that illegal immigrants are a significant cause of this as well.
Happy Face 29
I knew you'd be a fanny. Every paedophile I've seen exposed was white We shouldn't be afraid to confront that fact. It's like saying if I burned your house down that we shouldn't be afraid to talk about HIV rates in Blackpool & Fylde. Typically irrelevant annoying pish from you. OK, let's stick to the black topic. Why do you think it's a black problem? You don't answer a question with a question pal. Answer my initial question. Your answer will be shit but I'm interested in hearing it. Sorry, what was the question?
NJS 4386
Honky is one of the best racial terms but like I say questions need to be asked, without people like HF squirming with defensive stand points. Answering a question with a question shows signs of trying to take the power back, because someone doesn't like the question, I do it all the time in my job. The thing is that if everyone (as almost everyone has) says that yes, too many of the rioters are black then what's the next question? I think next questions like "Why is it harder for blacks to get out of those areas" or "What are the problems in black culture that make boys shit at school? are interesting ones whereas LM's next question would be "Why don't we send them back?" - that's why people tend to shy away because the underlying reason for pointing things out isn't to try and improve everyone's lives its to score points on their agendas. This is Tonys benefit britain in all its glory. I'd say the predominant youth culture, that is for working class youths, encourages them to be thick, obnoxious types who say things like, "yeah, it's the government's fault init," despite not knowing who is in government. It encourages the belief that they are special as individuals and a strong desire for riches and material goods. Of course as you say not all youths are like this, and not all who are like this are prone to riot. But it's a factor imo.

Guest alex
I'm sure CT has argued the benefit culture is what has made these youths etc. happy to not bother getting jobs and now it's to blame for them rioting. Cake and eat it time.

I'd say the percentages in Hackney and Tottenham as opposed to the whole of London are reflected in the rioters. Doesn't make me squirm to say they're black areas so I'd expect to see blacks. Kevin S. Assilleekunt 1
I think, and you can call me racist, that another cause is because black people are generally more athletic (there are many, many examples of this: Usain Bolt, Shola Ameobi, for instance) than their white counterparts, and therefore a black youth in Clapham has more energy to riot than say, a white dole-scrounger in Liverpool. Just a theory anyway.
