never heard of that site, but I won't ever look at Iraqi goals again, since I got a virus.

Now THAT is an effective means of crackdown !!!

Printing Press - "we can't mass produce sheet music, the artist that created the piece will lose money if everyone can play it anywhere"

Gramaphone - "we can't mass produce records, the artists that play the piece will lose money if everyone can hear it anywhere"

Tape deck - "we can't mass produce blank tapes, record companies will lose money if everyone can get music for free"

etc.

Pretty alarming if we're the first generation to value outdated copyright law above human technological advancement.

Don't use any form of piracy myself so stuff like this doesn't bother me. It's kinda nice actually because so many people who do use pirated stuff are so smug about their "savings".

My view is that all the tv/movies I download, I pay for via Sky anyway - I know it bugs them because I'm supposed to be only allowed to see things when they say I can but that concept is bankrupt to me.

I suppose I should feel a bit of guilt on the porn front but can't quite manage it.

I don't think I know 1 person who hasnt pirated something. Even my Grandparents ask me to burn them DVDs. Ill be fucked if Im going to pay £9 to go and see every film that comes out at the cinema or every CD that comes out. If I quite like the look of it I will though.

There's a real misconception that if you download an album/movie etc that you would have bought it otherwise. That being said, it is becoming increasingly difficult to make a living as a musician because of the download culture. The same is happening to authors now as well where it was already near extremely difficult to do so.
