take it you used the one of the money glitches andrew?

otherwise how the feck did you get the guts of 35-40k for the powerleveling and buying two houses so quickly while being <level 30

nope, not at all, the dark brotherhood gave me a nice boost, selling stuff a lot I dont hoard gear unless its unique (named) Ive had no use for dragon bones for instance and they fetch a nice price

the only thing I ever buy are health potions so my moneys just been building up, I had to scour my saved/kept gear and do some trading to push past the 25k mark though I was walking around with maybe 15-20 or so

Ive actually put your problem to another forum I post on that is wholely a gaming one, cause Ive done largely the same thing as you with the leveling of smithing but not struggled like you have with bosses or what have you and Im curious as to whether either of us are the only ones in our respective predicaments

The game designers for badly implementing leveling and stat attribution/balance, it should also make a difference to what your wearing, i honestly can't notice any real changes from wearing the dragon plate or my steel stuff damage wise.

more so the mistake is making dungeons work on the basis of what level you enter is then the level for that dungeon from then on, that is utterly moronic.

Dungeons should be set at a level aimed for certain parts of a game.

This is the first time i've "struggled" and i don't think that you can call being one or two shot a struggle tbh, it's imbalanced especially for what is an early quest.

Bad bad design.

(should prob point out rpg's are the games i'd play the most in case people think it's because i'm new to them or something, i'm well aware how stat distribution and the rest should work)

well if theyre too hard why don't you leave and come back to them when you can handle it?

Ive had to do it before, and to me it makes more sense if some areas force you to do that otherwise youd be in the situation of being able to walk the game without ever gaining levels, some things have got to be harder it might be imbalanced but Id say its better than wandering into a dungeon for a questline youve just started and having it be a total cakewalk because youve started it later than you maybe shouldve done

*shakes head* This is one of the easier quests this is the point i'm making, its a shitty one from whiterun the 2nd place you've to visit.

Like i said it's a game design flaw, if you don't powerlevel a stat you'd never notice because it'll all ramp up accordingly, but because i lobbed all my gold into smithing it's cocked it up.

Eg: "outside" wandering around i can come across a blood dragon and chin it because at certain stages you get harder dragons and currently this is one of the easier ones for the places i've been and the amount of the main questline i've done.

but go into an "easy" dungeon, the mechanics catch your level, change the dungeon mobs accordingly to match it, and something which should be a shitter compared to the dragon outside is basically 50x stronger.

i can stand infront of a dragons fireball/flame breath no hassle, but a lowend mob (man in a dress with a bit of wood) one shots me.

which quest?

and "whiterun the 2nd place you've to visit." doesnt hold water, while you technically should go to whiterun if you're following various questlines you also should allow your stats to grow in a balanced way but you are free to go anywhere once you leave that cave and youve boosted your level in an unbalanced way and are now complaining about not being able to handle the enemies that have jumped in level to match you

the one thing that is mystifying me is that Ive done the same but not experienced the problem

oh aye I did that quest last night, that last room was a bastard

just occured to me what difficulty are you playing on?

and its really not meant to be that easy anyway, whether you get it in whiterun or not its a deadric quest

I've never played a game like this before, and if I'm honest I'm scared of how nerdy some if the chat I'm this thread is, but at the same time I'm tempted to give it a go. I've got Arkham and MW3 to trade in.

Do I go for it? Might get Uncharted as well.

one of my favourite things about this is the soundtrack,it fits so brilliantly

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuHeTfy7gSY

also that songs brilliant, its written in 2 languages and makes sense and rhymes in both

Aye, the music is quality, as are the voice-overs, far better than Oblivions 3-4 people voicing everybody in the whole game. Can't go wrong with a bit of Max Von Sydow :bunny:

Aye i've been using him as a yardstick. I'll get it on the way home tonight. Dragon rape will ensue.

I'm not usually into this sort of guff either, but this is epic in both scope and gameplay. You can mission it up in so many ways, get into some huge paggas or just fuck about exploring. Biggest problem with this game is it is the ultimate time sink. A quick go becomes a two hour session and you have no fucking clue how it happened.

On your other point, aye, nerdy as fuck.

Although it sounds as if I will regain my virginity by playing, this does sound awfully interesting! Was in Game today looking for NBA 2k12 and nearly bought this when they didn't have it in. Selling the old one for 17.99, would I be better off just messing around on that for a while before I buy Skyrim?
