Ridiculous that Barton and Cabaye aren't involved in these matches because of piss-weak planning. They're going to be two of our key creative sources this season, along with HBA assuming he doesn't get snapped every time he plays. No surprise that this midfield didn't create much. Ba & Marveaux were originally withdrawn due to having to play on an astroturf, Ba got ten minutes at the end like. I think the lads were cautionate & didn't really go all out. No reason to try to emulate a team like manu in terms of preparation is there? While manu. invest in young British talent, we bring in a handful of no-name frogs probably supplemented by another couple of second rate, cut price foreigners who really don't want to be here. And we wonder why Sturridge isn't champing at the bit to come to SJP and play in front of 50,000 fans? And then to cap it all, we basically tell Barton that he can fuck off, we don't need him.
