The fact that the statement about Wallis advising Coulson came from Tory party HQ and not Cameron suggests a backstabbing in the offing.

Correct. Its a case of like Brown, whether the bottle goes.

According to the big political journos who walk the halls, Cameron has many enemies within his own party and quite a lot of them smell blood.

I really think it will boil down to his and spocks performance today.

all kicks off at 11.30 btw

Historians may well judge the events of Tuesday to be Britain's official resignation from international life. We do not know if the foam-thrower who targeted Rupert Murdoch was acting alone, or if there was a second pie man on the committee room knoll. But if the spectacle of a pink-jacketed consort throwing herself across her under-fire husband was not history replaying itself as farce, it was certainly tragedy replaying itself as slapstick.

Yet it says something about the banquet of horrors on offer that Tuesday's most exquisite irony did not even occur in a Westminster committee room. That honour surely belonged to David Cameron, literally sweating in Lagos as he was forced to address the growing perception of Britain as a banana republic. The prime minister wasn't accompanied by the Nigerian president - presumably the latter declined to share the podium with him on the basis that doing so could appear to tacitly legitimise the corruption that appears to be systemic in his opposite number's country

If Coulsen is charged and gets a sentence I could see Cameron forced out, if he doesn't step down himself.

If you ask me (well I'm giving my two penneth worth regardless  ), I think Cameron's done enough to clear himself in respect of hiring Coulson. As he said, all the checks had been done on Coulson and nothing had been brought up. As Cameron said, he gave Coulson a second chance. Perhaps Cameron needs to remind the House that various MP's were found guilty of fiddling their expenses - hell, there may be one or two have had convictions for speeding - and been re-elected; are their constituents to be critisised for giving someone a second chance also?

Unless, of course, as I said in an earlier post, Coulson was hired as a favour to Murdoch/Wade.

So happy Camerons hushed up the Labour tramps. Also turns out Labour spent nearly 40million on advertising Murdochs companies  and people actually think THEY would do a better job with the economy!

You're 18 years old so you're opinion on the economy is like listening to a 6 year old discussing football tactics. Cute at best.

Not sure Cameron is out of the woods yet. The last few weeks has just raised the political stakes, if the main enquiries unravel anything else then he will be under threat. It also represents a shift in power/strength. Cameron has been damaged by these events but not enough to threaten his position. However, as the Tories learnt the last time they were in power, scandal has a cumulative effect, they arent one off events. If something else comes along to damage his reputation, the loss of credibility from this episode will be telling.

My opinions are being called cute by someone who can't even using your/you're in the right context?. I also have an A-Level in politics :D so that makes me knows everything about politics ever (spot the sarcasm). Come on, Labour suck up to big businesses just as much as the Conservatives, I don't know how the unions/socialists can even follow them anymore, when they just take the piss out of benefits as a way of making it look like they care about the common man. Cameron will get through it, Blair got through worse, as have most prime ministers. Look at America, noones ever been successfully impeached (Nixon not counted for resignation reasons) despite all the bullshit they've been through, and we have more infusion of powers than them! People love the idea of shaking up the legislature, noone will have the balls to do it.
