yes i think it is fun to watch and i like it when the punch each other it is an attractive sport for the viewer and the wages that are paid don't insult the working class viewers who work down the mines just to get tickets to watch people fight and at £6 david haye will probably be playing defensive to get paid as much as possible, Nick.

It follows the same rules as the football clips - if youtube are hosting it or a similar hosting site it's not our problem. Post away!

Of the classic fights, this was a particularly brutal one: Hearns broke his right hand in the first minute.

Wonder if we'll see half as many punches thrown tonight?

Puts tonight shenanigans in perspective mind.

Hagler was mint, wasn't he?

Hagler is one of the best middleweights ever. It's very sad that when he came here to fight Alan Minter, there was a NF element amongst the british boxing fans. It was a very tense buildup and Minter said something like "No black man will beat me". Hagler battered him: in the 3rd he knocked his gumshield out and landed two vicious rights, the ref stopped it before Minter got seriously damaged. The crowd started throwing beer cans into the ring and Hagler had to leave under police escort.

He came to Warrington to this club to do a sportman's dinner type event, the owner must have connections because SRL has been too. Duran was meant to be coming, but I'm not sure if he ever did, they postponed the event because he didn't get to England. Shameful that when you have a genuinely great sportsman fighting in his prime he gets that treatment from British boxing fans, yet they get their knickers in a twist over the likes of Haye and Hatton.

I remember watching that fight with my uncle.

Wasn't just beercans, didn't a few seats go in too?

Shameful

Hagler, Hearns, Duran, Sugar Ray. What a great time that was for the division

Yeah, Duran was brutal, he was at his best as a lightweight. Hearns caught him with that right on his chin and he was knocked unconscious. He caught Hagler on top of the head there and broke his hand  Don't mess with bald people.

+ there were people like Arguello and Pryor about in the 80s, so much more talent. Pryor beat up Hearns and SRL when they were amateurs apparently.

I enjoyed the post-fight press conference yesterday, at which both the victorious Ukrainian and Haye were present.

Haye said that he had lost, partly because of a broken toe he'd had a few weeks ago. The Ukrainian said that he shouldn't make excuses. Haye offered to show him his toe. The Ukrainian agreed to look at it. Haye showed it to him, and said "It's not pretty, is it?" The Ukrainian said "Well, I'm not a doctor." And Haye said "Yes, you are a doctor"

LOL ;):D

At least these two seem to have a sense of humour, and the Ukrainian spoke really good English.
