Now I'm not claiming to be a super fan but I have followed NUFC home and away since the sixties been to over 100 grounds watching them and I have to say.

I'm happy with the club at the moment than I have been during long spells of the above.

some of the Harvey spell (joe is a god in my book but the directors jeez)

Gordon Lee era

Richard Dix

Arther Cox

Jack Charlton

Sourmess

Fat Sam

and loads more.

The last two seasons have been enjoyable with both ups and downs exceeding expectations. I,m looking forward to next season unsure of how it is going to pan out.

anyhow only my opinion

I've enjoyed our onfield performances over the last two seasons as well. The 2008-09 season was painful watching for the most part.

Last two seasons have been exciting with some dramatic games, the best fighting spirit shown for some time and some amazing results.

Makes the off field antics of the board all the more infuriating.

Last season was a crazy one with some great results and also a few shockers. If we can stamp out some of the poor performances against lesser sides and be a bit more consistent then I think next season could bring a top 8 finish

Its all about perspective, they have only been enjoyable because 08/09 was so bad.

in theory thats true, that last two seasons wouldn't have happened had we not been relegated in 08/09 but thats as far as I take it, you can't say it wasnt nice to win all the time in the CCC and I don't think Id have enjoyed 6-0 v villa or 5-1 v sunderland as much if we'd had a better 08/09

There's definitely a lot more life in the post relegation squad than anything we've seen since Bobby was in charge. It's such a shame that Hughton and now Nolan are gone as I believe they were two of the main reasons for that spark.

I'd agree the last two seasons have been enjoyable, I absolutely love last season, was exciting most weeks, and if you'd have said we'd score 8 more home goals than Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City, I'd have been ringing St Nicks.

I've seen bad times too, Jim Smith's days were the worst in some regards cos even when we were winning we were fuckin pish, got 10 times worse the 1991 season where we had fuck all pace at all, and he still signed old dafties.

So aye we've all seen worse days than this, but HE (Ashley), or HIM (the specky cockney casino manager cunt) deserve ABSOLUTELY no credit for this, a monkey could've managed to got Newcastle in to a mid table position in my view, so while I agree it's been ok lets not forget who got us in to this mess and lied repeatedly to us.

I think the McGarry years were the worst years, having said that, it is the one period where I missed the most games [prob about half the home games] due to work etc so I think in a way I was lucky, but what I saw was dross, absolute dross, but the worst thing of all was the utter gloom and despondency which surrounded the whole club.
