No, your point is that you genuinely think undersoil heating will get us more points than otherwise. I genuinely think that their notion of "spending some of the 35 million on the training ground" is absolute bullshit that only the most deluded man could believe = a wise spending at a club that desperately needs it spent on players. It won't get us any more points and believing it will shows a total fundamental lack of understanding about the game of football. Better players gets you points, not the same players playing on a slightly different pitch every morning.

I am afraid if you can not see the connection between excellent training facilities and players training better and staying fitter, hence not missing games, then it is indeed you who is clueless on this point.

The pitches there have been excellent for years so I'm not sure how you can credit the current regime with that one. Not saying getting undersoil heating on one pitch isn't a good thing, it obviously is. The facilities were already excellent in general though with the indoor pitch and so on. This is basically just a welcome addition to what was already in place. Seems to me they're trying to make out some massive overhaul was needed. I've actually been shown round the place as well

Can't remember us having bad injury problems for a while since the facilities got a massive upgrade when Fat Sam came here. Could it be that spending money on the training ground is a convenient excuse for not having to spend anywhere? Couldn't be.

Wasn't it SBR who use to complain that the training pitches were too sandy after Dyer injured himself every second week.

Shame it was when Kieren was down the Quayside opposed to training.

Think it was Souness. Like I said it's a good thing although without knowing the actual cost the value for money debate seems a bit pointless.

You honestly think they're going to actually spend £300k and spend the rest on players? Or do you think they're going to "allocate" millions towards ongoing improvement of the Training Ground and it's facilities?

This is yet another line of bullshit from the club that you eagerly suck from the devils cock

My point was how the money spent at the training ground, regardless of which pot it was allocated from, is excellent news for the first team squad and will hopefully ensure the players train better and with less likelihood of injury at all times of the year.

As I think you probably know. ;)

Excellent news?

Signing Cabaye was Excellent news, Signing Ben Arfa was Excellent news. Having nice grass is... news.

As has been stated, there isn't a seperate pot from which they spend on players to the one they use for upkeep. Which is our point, they've lied, again. They said that the money from Carroll would go on players. Meaning, to every right minded individual, £35m would be spent on fees. Wages and any upkeep would come out of normal running costs, not this bounty. Then it was players fees and wages. Any upkeep would come out of normal running costs. Now it's players and wages and upkeep and soon it will be basically dissolved into the normal funds for the club, meaning yes, we as a club are financially £35m better off. On the pitch, however we're still weak.

We will not see another input of that sum,for a long time. So why not use that £35m to get some top class players? Give us a spring board beyond the likes of Everton and Aston Villa, who will try and improve inch by inch.

One £10m player could genuinely mean the difference between 13th and 7th. £300k on a new training ground pitch and £9.7m in the bank will not.

What aren't you getting?

I'm hearing rumours that the escalators in the club are due to be turned back on!. The money for this will come from selling the clubs captain and last seasons top scorer, Kevin Nolan.

Fantastic news. Could be the difference between 14th and 16th place.

What have they actually done there, CT? Just heard bits and bobs mentioned really.

Thought it was a perfectly reasonable question like. If you can't answer, fair enough.

Yeah, I could've gone and searched it on the web CT. In fact I did after asking you. I just thought for a moment there that when you were previously banging on about the improvements you actually knew what they were. Or perhaps I was laying a trap which you fell into. Again.

Or perhaps you could have clicked the link, saw the picture of the squad sitting in a big paddling pool and just posted one of your famous

Not that it should come as a great surprise to anyone, but the writing is once again on the wall in relation to the whole Andy Carroll affair. Strengthen the team my arse.

As for those suggesting this was premature, better luck next time. Surely there can be no more deluded supporters with a shred of intelligence that have any remaining hope for the current owner and board.

Oztoonfan meet Deano, Oztoon fan, Deano.

Hopefully Ba, Best and Shola can all get the goals we need. All have shown to be in and around 10 goals per season strikers. Barfa is going to have to contribute heavily in goals from the hole. 10+ again.

I think we will be alright. Re-assess in January. I actually think come then we will be about 8th.

I'll just let you two get acquainted.

Wait til the end of the window for threads like this man. There'll be a certain few posters with a shitload of egg on their faces when the window closes, but there's no need to try and win the argument now.

Bosh.
