Guest alex
Just undersoil heating, wasn't it? That was mentioned as costing around £300k iirc when people were saying Blackpool should've been made to install it when they came up. It can only be easier / cheaper to install at a training facility rather than in a stadium you'd have thought.

Barney 0
Actually, the pitch was re-done and the family enclosure is being painted too-so that's proabbly part of the £35m.
Kitman 2207
The thing is, it's not just about re-laying the pitch, you have to take into account the wages of the ground staff for the next 5 years

The custard creams for board meetings are a huge expense too. All staying IN THE CLUB

Christmas Tree 4728
Thing is, some papers are reporting DL said all the money would go back on players. Thats not what he said, just that none of the money would leave the club. Two very different statements. I agree we need to be careful at a time of fucking mental transfer fees that we dont pay over the odds. I'd also agree its better to shop around and get a good deal. Also agree it may be better to keep a little back in case we need a player in january. But come on, how thick do they take us for? they seem to constantly come out with stuff and think we wont remember. Im not counting pennies and expecting to see all of the £35M spent. But if it includes wages then surely we have to add wages back on when players leave? Does that not mean the wages for Ba et al are cancelled out by the wages from Sol, Nolan, Carroll etc? Fair enough its a few ££ on signing on fees etc, but not £20M worth or whatever. Disagree with them using the £35M to pay for the training round (no idea what that costs). Id still be happy (well, content) if we just signed a decent forward and kept Jose. Putting aside where the money comes from, the fact they have done what they have at the training ground imo is fantastic news and could well get us quite a few extra points next season. The pitches up there are now said to be like bowling greens and the under soil heating will allow training all year long. Could drastically reduce the niggles setting in due to training on crap surfaces or for the matter injuries whilst training. At the end of the day if they have had to steal a mill from the Carrol fee then it is money well spent imo.

The Fish 10858
You honestly think they're going to actually spend £300k and spend the rest on players? Or do you think they're going to "allocate" millions towards ongoing improvement of the Training Ground and it's facilities? This is yet another line of bullshit from the club that you eagerly suck from the devils cock

This is yet another line of bullshit from the club that you eagerly suck from the devils cock My point was how the money spent at the training ground, regardless of which pot it was allocated from, is excellent news for the first team squad and will hopefully ensure the players train better and with less likelihood of injury at all times of the year. As I think you probably know.

No, your point is that you genuinely think undersoil heating will get us more points than otherwise. I genuinely think that their notion of "spending some of the 35 million on the training ground" is absolute bullshit that only the most deluded man could believe = a wise spending at a club that desperately needs it spent on players. It won't get us any more points and believing it will shows a total fundamental lack of understanding about the game of football. Better players gets you points, not the same players playing on a slightly different pitch every morning.
