Christmas Tree 4858
Have you mentioned this particular nonsense on here before? I think I have. My prize find to date being this beauty. Henry viii Silver, minted in the Tower of London around 1520-30 (while his wives were getting the chop a few yards away ) and dropped by some poor chap in a farmers field just off the A66 (which at the time would have been a medieval market). Today I'm off in the glorious sunshine to a secret farm somewhere between Raby Castle and Staindrop. Former land of King Canute 930 ad. Christmas Tree 4858
Mrs. F thought it was time she told me that's she's a Synesthete- she sees letters and numbers as colours. At sunset tomorrow I'm burning her as a witch. WTF! Going to have to research this when I get back.

Jill 0
Going to Marco Pierre White's Steakhouse on Thursday with a few lasses from work "for my birthday" which is actually still a few weeks away. I love steak but I'm always put off ordering it if I'm not somewhere that specialises in it, so this wants to be decent. Also need to come up with somewhere for a decent Sunday dinner next week with the family. We usually just get a carvery from the Killy Arms (spot on) but with my mam in a wheelchair and my gran in her 90s and a bit doddery it's not really practical. The only other place I usually venture is the Black Bull at Wylam and that's a bit of a trek for everyone. There are loads of Italian etc places that do Sunday dinners but I always end up with pizza instead of their boil in the bag beef.
Monkeys Fist 43224
Classic misfit behaviour. After the initial "reveal" we quizzed her and she went full Rainman, reeling off what colour each number is, and how various names are coloured. Hers, and both our kids are unequivocally Red names , whilst mine is yellow-brown, or, as I said, Beer Shits Brown. It seems that a letter Y at the end a name changes it's colour, which she normally determines from it's first letter. Like I said, she's on the bonfire at sunset

The Pavillion, near Backworth/Shiremoor is meant to do a decent Sunday lunch. Never been personally, but my cousin takes his family regularly, recommends booking as it gets busy. Gemmill 46194
That was intended as a response to CT and his metal detecting. Bizarre that your missus has only just revealed this to you. I listened to a podcast recently about this synesthesia thing, and there was a woman on there who basically couldn't leave the house because she feels other people's feelings (it's called mirror touch synesthesia). It's so acute that walking down the street is just a bombardment of emotions - I think it's like what your missus has got, squared. http://www.npr.org/podcasts/510307/invisibilia Episode called Entanglement. I think they touch on the colour thing from memory.
Monkeys Fist 43224
I wasn't sure if it was me or Fatty you were replying to, but fuck it, my Mrs. just told she's one of the X-Men. The Chubster digging up medieval shit-heaps can wait his turn.

Really nice - the steak was lovely. 10oz sirloin, medium rare, blue cheese sauce. Forced down an Eton mess for pudding as well. Thought I was going to have to get one of the staff to roll me out of there and I nearly died with happiness when I got in the house and could get my pyjamas on. Dr Gloom 22193
Wow, sounds like it's changed a fair bit since I was a kid. I don't remember much beyond secondhand books and comics and pretty ordinary food. Sounds a foodie paradise now
